Ok who sneeks in snacks to the pictures

Anyhow ok it's peeing it down and I have just spent £47 to go to the cinema , feeling royaly raped we sit down for the show...

I really don't get it why people go to the cinema these days. Home cinemas have never been better, HD telly, surround sound etc. The cinema just isn't worth it in my opinion, not even close.

When I went to see the new x-men film I stocked up on some nibbles but forgot a drink and thought "I'm going to get really thirsty, best get some Sprite". So I went to get my Sprite and it cost me nearly £4 for a regular size.

So yes, as a general rule I take my own snacks.

Anyone here watch 3D and wear glasses, the Real 3D glasses are they OK over the top of glasses, thinking about taking the wife to watch Transformers but as she wears glasses and is generally fussy so will it ruin the film for her?

I nearly always take a KFC in with me. There are no rules about taking your own food and drink in to a cinema. However, just to be on the safe side, I stuff my KFC in the GFs handbag along with hers and we roll in and munch. Usually all gone by the end of the trailers though :(

seriously? you bring hot, stinking junk food into a cinema? That's worse than texting during a film.

i honestly don't know what's wrong with people. why do you feel you have to stuff your face all the time? it's a damned film - just watch it and then leave. why go to see a movie at dinner/lunch time?! just go earlier/later and enjoy each activity separately. all that happens is that you **** other people off who are either hungry already or just don't want to smell some disgusting, greasy "chicken" slop while they're trying to enjoy a film.

a small drink, I can understand. but food? HOT food as well?

gah... along with chavs talking and throwing popcorn, texting etc. this sort of crap is the reason why I go to the cinema maybe once a year max these days. I don't mind paying a premium for a ticket but if I have to sit near some utter ball-bag stuffing his gob with fried mank then the film better be utterly mind-blowing.

Does your girlfriend not mind a greasy bag?

£9.70 at my local Odean for a ticket. About £7 for a drink and something - If I go to the cinema it's usually with friends and we usually take a Mc Donalds and some tinnies.

The Odeon in Brighton never stopped me taking sweets/drink in to the cinema when I was a bit younger, didn't even have to hide them.

I haven't been to the cinema since Bruno as I just watch movies online now. I can smoke, pause the movie incase I need the loo without missing anything and munch on rubbish as loudly as I want and I'm not put off by kids and chavs chatting away and I don't have to pay either

Jeez, I hear Boots sell stuff for periods, I suggest you make a visit!

I don't go at dinner or lunctime, I'd take a KFC in with me whatever time I go, be it 3:30pm or 10:30pm. Is my KFC worse than someone who chose to pay £4.30 for an Odeon hot dog? No

why do people complain so much at prices? £7 for two hours worth of entertainment? it always seems like a great value for money to me.

But then again im use to paying £30 + for a 90 minute football match £50+ for a music gig. ect ect,

Hell try go bowling or anything like that, the cinema is cheap!

how can you attempt to compare a live event with a prerecorded show?

its like trying to compare a "phantom of the opera" show at a theatre with the "phantom of the opera" film at a cinema you just cant do it!

If i take anything in with me i tend to eat if before the movie starts anyway. I have taken subways subs in without problem, McD's and KFC but i felt i had to hide it before i go in just in case they said anything.

Haven't been to the cinema for years. My cut off was £6.50 a ticket, it's now £9.60 looking at the web sites. I think cinemas will die out in a few years, they have failed to adapt like the music industry.

Most lulworthy statement of the year so far.
