Anyone know if there's a UK stockist for EVGA GTX 580 backplates? Only seller I can find is a US one from ebay.

And yes I know, I know it's pointless and will just be paying to raise my temps, but coming from a beautifully covered up 280, I can't stand the look of the bare PCB on new cards:cool:

Genius, I had no idea there was a European sales division. Ordering now, cheers matey.

It should fit any reference pcb,the high flow bracket will make a little difference i had both fitted to my 470s but the problem with that was the card ran very hot anyway so i cant say it would make a big difference but it will look better :D

Thanks for that clone. Im running reference gigabyte 470 oc's. Temps on the cards arent too bad, 69c max with a custom fan profile, oc'd to 750mhz. The brackets do look rather nice though.

I ordered one EK backplate today but someone on a different forum stated it only fits with the EK waterblock according to his manual.....so my thoughts after looking at a few pics was that surely the screws you have to take out of the original cooler at the specific points for you to fit the backplate will just screw back into the existing points they came out of?....or am i missing something?

OK, I think ill go for some EVGA ones...

If I pull off the PNY sticker from my card which is on the top - that wont invalidate the warranty will it?

The evga ones will fit any reference 580, the EK ones will only fit a reference card with an EK block on as far as i know, might be possible to fit it on a reference stock cooled card but u won't be able to use many of the screws as they don't line up and would be a bad choice imo, as for PNY and the serial sticker i have no clue how they operate their warranty, with evga if u just keep the sticker safe u are covered so u are better off asking on PNY really.

Just had a reply from EK and as i thought it is down to the size of the screws not the placement, think i will get one and if the original screws are too short and the screws you get with the plate might be too long, will be able to get some screws from me pals work. :)

This is the reply.....

Hi!
You need to have right screws that goes through the backplate into the block, and this is what I don’t know what they have.
Best regards, Eddy

EDIT....just had another reply....he thinks i'm using a different block than the EK block......trying to explain it is to go onto standard air cooler.

I got x2 spare stickers with serial etc with my PNY card.

Got a pair of evga ones on my 580's, had to fit some of the screws to the waterblock first before fitting the backplate as with the Koolance blocks they don't all line up.

And yes i must be a fool to spend maybe 4 hours worth of beer tokens on something that will last years just for the looks :P
