Just found naughty pics on preowned PS3 - what would you expect as compensation?

+1.

Has op replied to anything yet?

He's too busy silently crying with shame in the corner. :p OP, WTH man? If you go back to the shop they'll probably invoice you for the 'free' porn. :D

If it was bought for children or something fair enough (and after all these replies no doubt it'll have definitely been bought for kids, honest, now...), but you should have checked before they got to it anyway. Common sense, no? Just let the store management know so it doesn't happen again and carry on with your life. Jeez.

He has an oppurtunity to make a substantial amount if money here and so does no win no fee lawyers like the bottom feeders they are.

A customer of mine bought an HP PC (one of those new ones where the PC and the screen are in one unit) and it had porn on it. He bought it from a well known company named after a desktop stationary product.

Never did find out what the conclusion of that was as he was well intent on taking the PC back to them.

Like he said to me, what if he hadn't found the porn and his grand children had instead?

And then there's people on here laughing at the thought of compensation - OK that might be going a bit OTT - but what if your grandchildren encountered hardcore porn on a PC you had bought from a company, would you be laughing then?

I guess the situation here is a bit different though - wanting to claim compo over a pre-owned item is a bit silly - that's just the risk of buying pre-owned items I guess!

I don't know your location, so can only hope it wasn't from my shop...Let the manager know of the incident, be understanding, and if the manager is any good, he/she will probably throw a free game your way with an apology.

Compensation, no.

I would tell the manager or whoever in the store to check the consoles before selling them on in the future. (Tell them what was on there)

compensation isn't for "what if's though, its for putting right harm that HAS been done!

Compensation?! Seriously?

Login to his facebook.

Change his password.
Get a few hours worth of luls at the replies.
Format PS3.
Move on.

Permaban if the OP doesn't do this?

Then contact the store, say you bought it for your son/nephew and they found the porn.

but what if your grandchildren encountered hardcore porn on a PC you had bought from a company, would you be laughing then?

Personalty I'd be more concerned why the hell I'd decided not to check the second hand pc before giving to my grandchildren, then I'd be whacking my son/daughter round the head for letting their child use a pc without checking it, then i might write an angry letter.

Hmm, in two minds on this one. One half of me says "free porn, potential Facebook antics, legendary thread in the making!"

Other half (soon-to-be parent half) feels "shocked & outraged!" that this could happen and feels like giving the store in question an almighty bollocking.

I hate growing up :(

Glad that we've turned in to America now.

Hey, some stuff that isn't really offensive and wont cause damage. QUICK, NEED COMPO NOW!!!!!!!

"Seen some pictures that weren't yours? Our lawyers are here 4 u".
