Boycott The Sun

Is it?!

I did not know that. Hmmmph. Oh well, I still like it regardless :3

Yup. Globalisation is a reality, but it's not how these papers pass themself off. During the election for example, both the Record and the Sun were slagging each other off in editorials saying the other was 'London HQ'd' and they them self were 'Scottish'; in reality BOTH are run from London.

It's got worse than that, they've just sacked 1/3rd of the Record's staff and large sections are now going to be produced in London. The record themself haven't exactly advertised this, but that is part of the problem. Politically, anyway, they have been offbeat for years following Labour's war chants. They went from Scotlands leading paper to one in terminal decline, and denial. I did like the underworld scoops they had on the go, but they've been chopped also. For some guides on Kensingtons fruit market or something ;)

Same goes with the Scotsman, that's Johnstons Press (JPR - LON) and also not very Scottish either. Other than the obligatory offices in the areas to report what they want too. The Edinburgh Evening News for example, (JPR), stopped reporting on street crime in the poor areas all together practically when Labour were in. That's agenda ridden and not in the interests of those they claim to serve journalistically.

Wait, people actually still buy news papers?

If so, why? I can't see a use for them other than avoiding talking to people on a busy train or bus.

To be fair to the OP, the Sc*m is aimed at people too stupid to find boobies on the internet so you're not going to be able to reason with all of them. I'd be ashamed to be seen within 6 foot of that rag.
