i'm not naive enough to not know that gangs and knife crime doesn't exist in this country but i can't quite get my head around the difference in scale. there are groups of people i see in my local town on a friday, saturday night but there are not groups of people hanging around in gangs everynight etc and i've never seen a gang chase a 'rival'.
i have just seen a crimewatch story of a young coloured lad who was chased by a gang of youths on bikes with his brother. the younger brother escaped but the eldest was caught, assaulted, stabbed (so hard the blade broke off in his body) and killed.having never lived in a city, i'm lucky enough to not have first hand experience of it to the same extent one may do in a city.
do any other members see this kind of activity on a regular basis? ie gangs, hanging around and acting in such a way as i have mentioned above? do the police or local community not do anything to try and combat this?
