Why do people buy into apple BS?

but by making the changes so minimilistic it doesn't force those that have just shelled out £400 on one to feel the need to upgrade unless you're extremely anal

I'm honestly surprised that there's a new Galaxy tab out as it doesn't seem that long ago since the Galaxy S came out But maybe that's because I haven't taken much notice of it but it certainly feels like there's far more upgraded/new HTC/Samsung/Android phones released than there are apple ones yet those companies don't get the same bashing that Apple get

It makes sense from a business point of view not to go upgrading the screen res on the second iPad as it then gives them their big selling point for the iPad 3, might suck for the consumer but for Apple it makes perfect sense

Drip fed apple BS....Quite frankly Apple claims to "respect" the comsumer and buy into the clever apple notion...When in facts its takling the **** but its the public that are to blind to see.

It is interesting how the consumer has changed even from 4 years ago. Now, people are concerned with apps more than the hardware itself, at least the common man. Sure there are people interested in the fastest CPU, but compatibility and ease of use is why Apple has been so popular. You know that when you but an iphone, you get the latest software support for about a year, some android phones are sold with the only software version they are likely to get.

In the face of people just getting the newer, smaller version of an apple product, the software that goes on it is much more important than a 200mhz faster CPU, otherwise we would have seen a hardware war similar to computers. Apple has proven having added value in there products is much better than pure peformance, ie icloud, appstore, itunes and standardisation.

We all know the fan boys out there, they love their iphones, but for the most part, people want a simple, easy to use series of products that dont change much that look cool, thats apple. Even though they may not have the fastest, the best or even the most common hardware/software, they offer the kind of consistency consumers want.

It is ironic, but in 1984 apple showed the world what they would be like in 25 years.

Take the Ipad 2

No flash support and the New Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Tablet is

faster smaller lighter and Higher res screen and cheaper

It's ever so slightly thinner, yes. But no cheaper.

And before you spout Apps...before apps I want my internet to work properly and android apps cover most.

You can have flash, just have to jailbreak it same as you would probably root an Android device. It's hardly a big deal for most, anyway. As for Apps, well correct me if I'm wrong but Honeycomb has sod all at the moment?

Whats the obsession with buying slower less functional tech for more money?

It isn't slower, nor less functional for most people. I can't think of anything an android tablet can do that an iPad can't.

It has to be the badge right?

Or the design, or the build, or the software, or the customer service.

If not please explain as I fail to get moist when comparing my Samsung Galaxy 2 with my mates Iphone 4...My tech is far superior than his on every level.

Well, it isn't superior in every way. It is faster and has a slightly beter camera. But then, the iPhone 4 is over year old now. It would be embarrasing if it wasn't a bit better. But again I'd take metal and glass over plastic.

Moat people I know hate itunes...and most people I know want better cameras and higher res screens on their apple products not quirky apps that read bar codes on kechup bottles.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Samsung Galaxy S II have a lower resolution screen than the iPhone 4?

I try to not get too embroiled in these discussions as I'm wholeheartedly pro-apple and apparently that makes me inherently a stupid vapid hipster with no clue, but I'll say this:

Most of the claims of slower, less functional, doesn't do this, lacks this, blah blah, are from people who spend more time looking at stat sheets and worrying about what they can say their new thing does, than actually getting on and using it.

I have a reasonable amount of Apple kit and sell it for a living, and the reason I like to use it, and believe in the things that I sell, is that they work beautifully.

The whole 'walled garden' bit used to annoy me, the way you're sort of poked and prodded and cajoled towards using their stuff, but no longer. A lot of their stuff is more convenient, and easier, and better, but a lot of it isn't, and you're not unable to use it, it just won't be the default option.

That doesn't include Flash on iOS of course but if we're honest Flash is a big fat old outdated pile of **** so I can see why they're against it.

I think a lot of the Apple hate comes from people who really feel the need to 'rise above' using Apple kit, and who feel like if they bought something made by Apple it would somehow make them less of a person, or bring them down a level. Honestly just get over it. If you don't like it, then that's fine - there are a host of alternatives, some of them very good. I for one would never knock Android devices - I think many of them are as good as Apple's devices, and I have nothing against Microsoft either, their OS is also very good, especially 7.

However, I personally prefer Apple's equipment, the way it all works together, and the way that the software and hardware is designed with a grand scheme in mind - all my stuff works with all my other stuff, and my bits of equipment that aren't made by Apple all work fairly happily with it too.

All I want is to be able to do the things I like to do, in the way that I like the best, so I use Apple's things to do it. If someone else likes to do it with MS and Android devices, or use Macs and Android phones, or Windows and iPhones, then why would I care even for a moment? It doesn't affect me. We're at a point where most devices are quite happy getting along with other devices. I used an Android phone for a bit, and even though in the end I didn't really like it and went back to the iPhone, it worked fine with my Mac, all my contacts and calendars and emails synced up and I could put my media on it just fine.

I don't understand the concept that to like one thing, you have to hate everything else. You won't see me running around taking the mickey out of Android phone users, for example, but there are several signatures on this site, and many members of this forum, that are pro-android and anti-apple to a degree that I actually feel a bit embarrassed for them because they seem to have themselves embroiled in some sort of mobile device jihad.

They'd do well to grow up a bit.

And I bet most run it on the bloated pos known as windows, on a pc I'd sooner eat my own testicles than run iTunes, as it runs like a dog, stick it on a mac and it is frankly awesome, and I'd use nothing else.

Its thinner, lighter has a better camera and higher res screen the 32GB version can be had for less than the Ipad2

I argue its a flaw to have to mod a device to function the internets correctly.

1080p video capture?

MY mates have pulled teeth in the past dealing with apple CS

I would take weight, function and fullHD on the go over metal and plastic...The samsung S2 screen makes the iphone 4 look dated beyond its 12 months release

I bought my iPhone because it did everything I could want out of a small, portable device.

I'll keep buying apple products (not desktops though, I like building those :)) because they gave me a new iPhone for free when the screen got cracked. The customer service is fantastic. That's why I buy Apple ;)
