Hi Guys.

I have been offered this Graphics Card by a friend. He said if it's any use to me i can have it for nothing, it's brand new but i don't know one Graphics Card from another. It's a VTX3D 1GB RADEON HD 5770 PCI-E 2.1
Is it any good? :confused:

Yea...it should handle 98% of the games at 1680x1050 res with 4xAA without any problem, but for 1920 res I would imagine you gonna need to lower some in-game graphic details and lower the AA.

It should handle most games, if need to just lower in game settings a little. If it free it is even better

That's an awesome card to get for free and has pretty low power requirements so should run on a modest power supply. For today's standards i'd say it's lower midrange so it handles games pretty well. Can you tell us the rest of your specs?

Hi Philip, it's your scouse friend wanting to know if you have built (or even ordered) your P.C. components yet?

As for the 5770, they are a decent card but nothing special BUT you can add another one in Xfire if you find you need more oomph in the graphics department.

Overclockers have one on sale for £79.99

I am sure you will be able to get a second hand one for between £40-£50.
So i would say yes, use that 5770 as even if you decide you won't keep it you could just give it back to your mate.

for a freebie mate, you canne go wrong.

although slowly getting long in the tooth they will still play most stuff with the eye candy up...you have nice friends lol

. . . crossfired:cool::p

That was going to be my next question. If i bought another the same, would it be ok in crossfire mode. Also is it one of those cards that needs a crossfire bridge cable or not. It is going in an Asus M4A89GTD Pro USB3 Motherboard. Will that be ok?:confused:

EDIT.

I forgot to ask. In crossfire do both cards need to be exactly the same, even down to the manufacturer?
