Take the 580 if you have no intention of upgrading your monitor to either 120hz or 2560x before your next GPU upgrade.
I wait and see as am in no rush at all as it not my main gaming system..Can't see it happening any time soon. Prices on Nvidia seem to be going up every week. Getting a bit stupid now tbh. If the PNY goes down to 335 again on 'this week only' I'd grab it.
I no be running SLI in this system as an SLI setup would ran to hot in my HTPC caseIt depends. If you just want a single card and never look for a second one to do SLI then definitely go for the GTX580 1.5GB.
If you ever plan to add a second card for SLI in the future, then you might consider GTX570 2.5GB. However keep in mind that it would be difficult to find another one in the future as it's rare.
The price has dropped today from £299.99 to £284.99 ex VAT (£341.99 inc VAT )Can't see it happening any time soon. Prices on Nvidia seem to be going up every week. Getting a bit stupid now tbh. If the PNY goes down to 335 again on 'this week only' I'd grab it.

A 720watt PSU will be enough for SLI GTX 570 if the CPU & GPU's are kept at stock speeds...That isn't affluent for 580 SLI, not even 570 SLI. Maybe 28nm cards are of a better choice?
