Wtf has happened to music

I'm not really a fan of what's in the charts these days, but I think Lady Gaga is by far away the best of that group of artists. Despite the silly music videos, her songs always seem to have decent beats and are pretty enjoyable.

Alle-alejandro, alle-alejandro!

I like all music genres (though I hate rap) but I despise 99% of the crap in the charts, it really is utter tosh.

I'd say my favourite music is all forms of metal generally, Sonic Syndicate for example are awesome. In Flames (as mentioned already) and Dimmu Borgir are great too.

Anyway, it's impossible to suggest music properly as people have such diverse tastes.

I like all types of music dont get me wrong but over this year every genre of music seems to have been turned into dance beat boredom and you just dont no who is who,its like there all using about 5 producers to create the exact same sounds for everyone in the charts and its so dam boring and i think by next year its going to be dead i hope so.

Well these 3 make most of the chart music:

They get a 6 figure salary per song

There's plenty of good new music out there - you just are unlikely to find any within the top40 pop charts.

What genres are you into? When people say 'I like a bit of everything' they're lying :p

I was looking though the top 40 on Monday.. I reckon I liked maybe 3 of the tracks.
So many of them are by Somebody "feat" someone else.. rubbish if you ask me!

Me not working hard, yeh right picture that with a kodak
Or better yet, go to Times Square and take a picture of me with a kodak
Took my life from negative to positive and I just want y'all to know that.

Lol Pitbull

If you sit back listening to Radio 1 and expecting good music to come to you, what do you expect?

It's seems to have been taken over by certain artists. If it's not Katy Perry then it's something feat Katy Perry. It's like the same 10 artists are working together at some point to make a song or two.

Charts suck. Metal for the win :)

I always say it sounds like a transformer making love to Dr Zoiberg.

I hate it with a passion.

And yet I like Skrillex! But he's a Music Producer not specifically a dubstep producer, so I guess he's allowed.

Ellie Goulding is a breath of fresh air and Jessie J isn't bad either, if you don't like their stuff fair enough but at least they're writing and performing their own original material :)

The sceptic in me tells me that the production team has assigned their writing credits rights contractually in exchange for a one off payment so this can be used as a marketing ploy... but meh :p

rock / metal is the way forward my friend!

And BMTH are awesome :D Cant stop listening to Chelsea smile at the minute, not sure why :p ... and they are from Sheffield \m/

Dubstep <3<3<3. Nuff Said.

That's if this can be classed as dubstep. It's possibly too hardcore. Good sub is a must.

Edit: I hold no responsibility for side effects such as dizziness, blood loss and in some extreme cases death as a result of this music. Not for the faint hearted.

Borgore is one incredible producer, he does some hilarious stuff (sadly not postable on OCUK) as well as some incredibly deep tracks, as well as stupidly hardcore.

Another good track:

I don't think dubstep is going to restore anyone's faith in music. You have to go into the past to find real music. Eveyerhint god happened before the 90s.
