This is on steam for £15 at the moment, is it worth it??
I'd like to get bf2 so I know how to play 3 when it comes out. Is this the best one on offer from steam?

I would say play bad company 2 to get used to the gameplay, ie rush and learning that not all cover is good cover (destruction).

Battlefield 2 is a good game, but is showing its age now.

I agree with Chid
BC2 will be a lot closer than BF2 is to BF3. Medal of honour is worth considering as well, but BF3 is hopefully a bit step on from both those games anyway.

Don't buy it !
BF2 was my introduction to online gaming and i wasted half my life to it.
I'm now wasting my life playing BFBC 2.
Can't wait to waste more time on BF3.

dont buy it for £15!
you can get the base game much much cheaper and afaik you get all the expansions etc with the latest patch.

Definately go with bc2 instead of bf2.

Bf3 will be based on an upgraded version of same engine as bc2.

Frapple when you think about the word upgrade it means replacing something to get something better and something more new.

i.e. I'm upgrading my GPU

Or you could say i'm upgrading my pc by getting a new gpu, meaning it's the same pc just with an upgraded gpu.

Just get bad company 2, BF is past its age imo.

Bad company 2 is a very very good game, if you have a decent pc it looks amazing.

you cant play bf2 anymore really, way too old and dated even though it was a brilliant game but you definitely have to get BC2

£15 seems a bit overpriced I'm sure I paid £3.74 for it in the sale a while back.

Complete and utter hogwash.

BF2 is perfectly playable, still as brilliant as it ever was and hasnt aged a bit. All you have to watch out for are the ******** who wont share the flyables with you if youre low rank. Thats not a new development or anything those ****** have always plagued the game, find a decent server and you'll have a great time.

ive spent 500 + hours on bf2 overall since it came out so don't tell me my opinion is hogwash..................

It has aged, the graphics look like dog ****

Graphics arent important to all of us, me included.

Agreed. I tried to go back to it for a bit of nostalgia but it feels really crap now

The hit boxes are atrocious as well.

I don't think you get special forces, I am pretty sure it would cost you more for a copy of special forces alone. However if you can get a copy of the complete edition elsewhere for cheaper that includes special forces then you are sorted.

Thought i'd use this rather than make another thread but I just joined a server via special forces. Picked my spawn point on the map, walked 5 steps forward and " KICKED FOR LONG TIME CAMPING IN SPAWN "

Banned for 10mins.
