I have just bought a sofa from DFS and the guy there was trying his damnedest to sell me fabric protection for it, Apparently the protection covers spills and stains and "minor" plucks, it also covers "minor" pet damage, he reeled off some speech about how the fire retardant meant that it couldn't be washed but it's the pet damage I am interested in.
With the service I can phone a team of "fabric experts" and they will come out and repair the fabric that has the stain/pluck, there is no limit to how many times I can do this in the 5 years it covers, it costs just over £100
The thing that worried me and made me turn down the protection was the usage of the word "minor", I did ask the sales assistant what exactly that meant and he couldn't give me a solid answer and asked me to look into the terms and conditions.
I do have a cat however and if this service works as well as the pushy sales guy said it could save me some money, I have around a week to phone back and tell them I want it before the sofa turns up.
So basically I am asking if anyone has bought this protection before and if they have had any repairs refused
