Yesterday Gun Bros finally recieved the facebook integration patch that has been promised since the end of the year. This patch allows you to 'add' other people who play the game and use their 'bro' as your AI companion instead of the very weak stock AI character. As well as the obvious benefit of your partner now having much better equipment, every time another player uses your character in their game you get free experience and credits and vice versa. You also get buffs depending on how many 'Bros' you've recruited.

Would anyone be interested in sharing their facebook profiles in order to help eachother get these buffs? I'll get the ball rolling with my account email:

Oh and, it doesn't seem to spam any updates onto your facebook page as far as i can tell. It also stores your savegame on facebook so it can't be lost anymore.

Oooh, haven't played this in a while, hopefully should make it a bit more fun.

So I add you to facebook, then we can use each others bros in game?
 
I haven't actually tried it yet but I think people you've added will replace the rubbish AI companion you have following you about. You also get rewards if both of you complete the same challenges using eachothers characters as companions
 
I quite like the system now i've actually tried it.

The challenges add a little something to keep you coming back, although i have to say i'm finding a little too easy. I managed to complete all four of yesterdays challenges in less than 5 mins!

Also i like the fact that the companion you take actually has a weapon that's not useless. That difference alone meant my top score for survival went up from 800-odd to nearly 1000. I'm a little be concerned about how much exp you actually recieve from companions though, i got enough to level up from 54 to 55 from one other guy alone.

Either of you guys experiencing unresponsiveness with the controls since the update? Sometimes the movement input is frozen for a few seconds. Annoying when you take a hit spoiling the perfect round.
 
How exactly do I add people?

I log in to Facebook via the game (nothing shows up on my FB account btw, should it?), and I can see Bro Ops and Brotherhood, but don't see how to add people.

You have to actually add them as a friend in facebook, their bro will then automatically appear in game.

Wierd system tbh.

Yep, i do have that problem. It's made the lvl10 zombie survival impossible as even with the winged armour if you stop moving for even a second you're dead instantly. Shame really as it was the quickest way to make cash.

Fortunately i'm nearly entirely kitted out with the best stuff now. Just need the big bazooka-sun-gun-thing and i'm set. The winged armour + the machine gun that tracks enemies (the most expensive machine gun) is just an epic combo, just run everywhere firing behing yourself, too fast for enemies to touch and the autoaim means you don't miss ever.

Got you in game now. Awesome. But you only have the dual knife shooting thingies which is a shame. Beats the standard bro though.

Glad its not just me with the movement problem then. Hope they fix it as the game is really growing on me.

I do have the motion tracking gun, i think you have to select it when you select my bro. Go to the botherhood menu (the one where it'll show my bro) and tap on him, it will change his weapon to his secondary... or at least i think that's how it works.

If not, give me a shout and i'll change the motion gun to my primary weapon which will garantee he uses it.
 
Holy moly bucks dont half add up when you've got a few people added. Have totted up 13 in just two days, i might even end up with that uber armour afterall!

One question about the Bro-Op challenges, how do I respond to the requests? Not really sure what I have to do with them.

Click each challenge and it tells you what you need to do on the right.

Do it on your own (without a real bro) to get the first tier reward, set a real bro as on duty and do it with them for the second tier, then again with another real bro for the third.
 
Can anyone give me a quick primer on how this game works? How do I unlock the refineries that say "10 min, 1 hour" etc and what unlocks weapons/upgrades etc.

Refineries unlock by using the refinery before it. So for example if you have the 10 min one unlocked and want to unlock the 30 min one, just dump whatever amount of explodium you have into the 10 min one. When you next have explodium to process, the 30 min one will be unlocked. This is a one-off process, once a refinery is unlocked it will stay like that forever.

Weapons are unlocked by level, if you select them it'll say what level requirement they have. Some are bought with cash; an easy to obtain currency, others are obtained via bucks; previously it was only possible to buy these with real currency, now you can get them for free using the brotherhood challenges system.

The ones bought with bucks are typically better, however the most powerful ones unlocked with cash are still very formiddable.


It's just a grind fest ultimately, however thanks to the daily challenges and the fact that it's a quick pick up and play game it doesn't seem to get boring. I've racked up a good few hours and still jump on for 30 mins a day just to make sure i've completed all of the challenges so the other people i've added to my brotherhood get extra bonuses.
 
OK figured out how to unlock refineries and started using them. I guess the only way to get Warbucks is to use this bro-ops stuff so I have e-mailed you guys to add me on Facebook.

I got all the free Warbucks already and wasted them on useless things (not realising they can't be won in game, like coins). :(
