If someone is behind you, up your rear and annoying you why do you want to keep them there?

If there is oncoming traffic, why would you stop the car completing the move? You are putting lives at risk.

If you think that is driving normally then I'd hate to hear about your dangerous driving habits...

Overtaking is legal. Speeding up to stop them overtaking is illegal.

You are the idiot for speeding up. If you think it is even remotely acceptable to do what you suggest then do us all a favour and trade your car in for a bus pass.

Principle! Why should a car tailgate. Why should a car overtake every cars thats in front of them? Why is that car special to everyone else? Why can't these drivers just drive normal sticking to traffic then being special and try to tailgate/overtake as many cars as possible so they can jump ahead because they want to get to A - B as quicker then anyone else.

Every other car is sticking to the rules keeping a gap, doing 30/40 on necessary raods.

Because they are allowed to overtake, it's not against the law to do so. What right gives you the driving equivalent of Judge Dredd?

Do you really believe what you have just typed?

Hardly anyone ever overtakes in a 30. It is incredibly rare to see someone pull an overtake in a 30 against someone else doing 30. Tractors and stuff, sure but never more than that.

Sounds to me like you drive everywhere absolutely petrified and doing 20mph, causing massive grief for everyone else on the roads and yet when they try and pass you you try your best to cause an accident.

Why speed up? Driving isn't some game where the aim is to wind up other road users as much as possible. Leave others to it. Let them overtake and travel at whatever speed they like. It's none of your concern, Sho. Even in 30 zones. How do you know he isn't rushing to hospital to see someone with 10 minutes of life left?

You will be very suprised the amount of people who overtake doing 30 in Oldham. Have a drive in oldham and you will know what i am trying to say ;)

If the speed limit is 30 then, i would be doing 30. My point is when your are doing the legal speed limit, but you get tossers overtaking you it is annoying. Most are Chavs/Asians or wannabe F1 drivers who think they know it all.

So you feel it is alright to try and kill them? You're at least as bad as they are.

Whereabouts in Oldham are you talking about? A62 has enough lanes not to be an issue and the traffic elsewhere is pretty light most of the time unless you are around the mumps roundabout etc.

Even down by the Costco etc, the traffic is all pretty well behaved.

Still convinced you are a muppet.

I've never been overtaken in Oldham in a 30. I would've remembered, because it is generally dangerous to overtake in a 30. THat's why it's a 30.

Do you always do 30 in a 30? What about in dense fog or heavy rain?

The speed limit is such, it is not a target.

Let the wannabe F1 drivers drive at whatever speed they so wish. Putting yourself in their way by breaking the law yourself helps no-one.
 
Point worth mentioning tailgating the vehicle in front actually improves your fuel economy because there's less air resistance. :)

See A62/a627 are alright. Costco side are good. Anything with double lanes are good. I'm on about Single lanes.
Try driving on Ashton Road ( from king street Roundabout) towards Ashton (bit further down) it's a single lane remember not a dual lane. Featherstall Raod more towrds BP Petrol Pump. Shaw road heading towards Shaw/Royton/crompton... These are examples i can give. And there are more roads like that everywhere.

See when it's a Dual lane i dont have a problem i'll be on the left doing 30 while everybody else are on the right lane doing 50/60's. Breaking the speed limit

When it's a Single lane NOT a Dual Lane this is when i have a problem. Why should other drivers need to tailgate/overtake.Overtaking on the other side when they can almost have a head on head collision with oncoming traffic.

On a single lane the speed limit can be 60mph, if you are doing 30mph that is when drivers will want to overtake, however it does appear to me that, with the proliferation of motorways and dual carriageways, the art of overtaking has somewhat been lost.
