Never tip.
If I think they've gone out of their way to do a good job - then I'll tip - I see absolutely no issue with this.
Just like if I outperform in my job I get rewarded.
kylew trust me im no fool by driving slower I save fuel and money if I put my foot down I little more, I use a lot more fuel 3-5mpg a night more and I can do over 60miles an evening, some times I'm in empty country roads or open duel carrage ways. I do this at least 4nights a week 20 miles of fuel is a trip to and from my day job for free.
So again if it was YOU delivering how would YOU drive normaly, faster or slower to the the good tippers or the non tippers.
And again ITS YOUR MONEY SPEND IT HOW YOU LIKE
I dont expect a tip non of the drivers I work with do and as has allready been said it what we are allready being paid for but if I do 10+ deliveries 50p or a quid here and there makes a diffrence and if I/we go out with two or more deliveries which do you think is gonna get done first which would you do first?
To also be fair 5 things will affect you deliver
1 location, say the main road network around the shop runs east/west they will tell every one the order will be 45min or so, then wait 5-10 mins and see what other orders come in. 1 on the east then west then east you would start cooking the two on the east as they can be deliverd together hope fully while thier cooking one for the west comes in and so on.
If im delivering 2 I look to see where they are is it faster to do a or b first is there any oneway systems or no right turns that affect my route.
This hopefully means everyone gets their food hot and on time.
2 walkins they have thier food cooked in bettween deliveries if not before, so if you realy want you food faster come and collect.
3 time of order if theres only a few mins between the time of ordering or/and the food can be delivered on time and hot see 1 or 3 other wise the time important one will be done first.
4 tippers non tippers you are stupid if you havent worked out how this affect you delivery.
5 Is you house, flat, mansion or caravan clearly named or numbered so it can be seen easily from the road even at night Ie not on a gate swung open or in a tree with unreadable fancy writing or white numbers on a white door
As for the idiots and narrow minded morons (sorry did I type that out aloud I forgot I'm on a forum for antisocial computer geeks
) who say delivery drives should get a better job or are stupid ask them next time you have food delived what the drivers day job is you would be suprised.
I work for 2 take-a-ways and cover at 2 others and heres some of the jobs me and the others have
Shop assistants
Quality control inspector
Hygene/welfare inspectors in the army x4 ones a staff seargent I believe
works supervisor
plasterer
landscape gardener
top London banker bored and needs something to do I think
ex fireman and shop manager now retired
gas engineer
it office worker
students
ba engineer
And as for better job it's a great job I drive around listening to the radio all evening whatching the world go by or sit in the shop and get paid to talk or read a book, the paper or play angry birds (a good night is £20+an hour a bad night£6-10) and free grub at the end of the evening is your job that good.

Ya stingy tarts! I pay online via pizza the hut and normally tip £1.00-2.00. Depends how fast they are. Used to work at my local many, many years ago as a delivery driver so I know how manic some nights can be, especially during Xmas (MOAR TIPS!).
It’s nothing to do with stinginess. It’s about rewarding for exceptional service. You’ve already paid for the delivery and I’m afraid that a box of food delivered on a moped is not an exceptional service in my book. It’s just part and parcel of the expected service. Now if it got delivered/served by a butler it might be worth giving a tip for exceptional service. What next, we’ll be tipping shop assistants for charging you for your purchases.
This. There is no excuse to get less than that because you don't bribe them to get it to you quicker/uncontaminated.
