It's a bit more than cosying up to - his government's media policy is identical to the list of demands Rebekah Brooks gave to Gordon Brown when he was PM. If there's any evidence that other party leaders or their advisers have done any wrong-doing then this should be investigated to the fullest - I would have thought that was obvious.

We'll I would replace "wrong doing" with "anything illegal", but I don't think that Cameron is suspected of having done anything illegal.
