Ok So I just had my first play of the game last night and I'm really impressed and very satisfied.
Its exactly as I hoped it would be and more.

I started off as the knight and I'm glad I did.
I understand why people say its so hard but after reading the threads I knew straight away how to play the game, take my time and don't charge in, use the sword in both hands for the knights ect.

Loved it, its exactly the kind of game I have been looking for. I have to admit it took me ages to figure out how to get past the dragon on the bridge (Took some ba*** lol) and fought the first demon no problem.

Best 14 quid I have spent in a long time

Anyone got any good advice when using the knight?

Any good pointers would be well appreciated.

just got around to picking this up on friday, and yeah, very good game so far.

re, the dragon on the bridge, i just ran past it, was there a way to kill it?

currently fighting the first boss (Phalanx), wish i had saved some more turpentine..

Yea thats basically what I did man, just ran past him lol.

Phalanx is not as bad as I thought I never even used any turpentine (and this was my first play also) I just had the sword in both hands (apparently it adds 50% to your strength) and hacked away and ran round him it was easy to get to his back that way and killed him no problem.

Basically I ran round him hacked, moved eat herbs and repeated ( I had tons of herbs).

there are ways to kill the dragon, takes awile though.

How? would love to know that..........I take it you have to be at 180 level or something lol

What i did.

You just need a bow and maybe 200+ arrows. (depending on type)

Get to the top of the first tower and snipe it from the direction you came.
I think i stood on the far right of the tower aiming through the gap, the dragon flies straight towards you, just shoot when you hear it scream.
It takes a while but then you can consume the soul and collect all the items along the way.

So let me get this right, are on about sniping it from the bridge, or somewere else? Sorry bit confused :confused:

I know it sits with the other one on the small grassy area.

save the soul? think i consumed mine but later learned that boss souls have better uses...

Cheers buddy I will try that tonight, now I am only a knight so I can only carry a crossbow, I suppose that will take over 5000 arrows?? lol

The red flying dragon one is only good for consuming. (10000 souls) It can't be made into anything.

Take a look at the Demon's souls Wiki, loads of info there.

On my first game, i consumed most of mine before realising i could do stuff with them. :rolleyes:

Try 200-250. You might be limited by how much weight you can carry.
You don't have to lock on to it, just fire into his line, you should just see a flash of the damage and his health.

I didn't bother killing him till later in the game.

Yea I think I will leave the dragons til a later time, but cheers for the info mate.

On my second second (started a new build after NG+) playthrough of this now and loving it, went for a meat cleaver build this time, its such fun!

Ok playing it last night and got to the amoured spider, jesus what a ******, any ideas on the best way to beat this SOB.

Also can some one explain to me two things.

1. what are you supposed to do with all the stones you get? I seem to have got a mountain of them in the spider boss level.

2. what is NG+ and what do people mean by build? (eg above meat cleaver build)

Easy way is to use a bow and tuck in behind the first pillar on your left and just snipe him. His fire can't hit you, only his web does sometimes but doesn't do anything.

Stones are for upgrading stuff. Different stones do different things. The blacksmith in the Nexus and in 2-1 can upgrade them.
The best place for info is the Demon's souls Wiki.

NG+ is New game 2nd time around, then 3rd time is NG++ etc. Some things you can only get in one play through. You keep all your stuff but the game is harder.

A build is usually what people put most stats into. A Meat cleaver build would put more souls into str/dex/vit etc instead of mag/faith etc. (meat cleaver being the big ass weapon that needs high strength to wield)

finally got 3-1 done today, i spent a while levelling up then realised my mistake (i kept going to the wrong side of the pillars) anyway im now on level 91 and im finding it near impossible to get a blue phantom to aid me yet when i put my stone down im summoned almost instantly

its doubly annoying that i seem to get a black phantom every 30mins or so when im not in soul form

still the best game this gen and a worthwhile rebuy... c'mon dark souls im waiting for you

, but again I only have a crossbow hope thats enough. I took the stones to the smith in the Nexus but he did'nt seem to do much with what I had seriously I have more than a dosen different types and he only seems interested in one of them.

Also, can you take the souls from demon you killed or do you need to hold on to them for something else??

He can only upgrade the weapons/shields your carrying at the time.
Some of the choices only appear after the weapon has been upgraded to a certain level first, then other options will appear. (i think only the blacksmith in 2-1 will do this though after giving him the soul from the 2-2 boss)

Some souls you might as well consume, some are very important for upgrades/new stuff.
