Huge explosion at the government quarters in Oslo.

Has there been much of a threat? Anything unusual?

Well, Norway does have a history contrary to popular belief, and it can no longer consider itself a neutral country.

*Military contribution in Afghanistan
*Al-Qaeda has threatened to attack the country as far back as 2003
*In 2006 Norwegian embassies in the Middle East were attacked following the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad
*Increase in scale of threats of retaliation and rhetoric being used by some radicals in mosques

Lots of windows blown out.

If you’re asking who’d want to hurt Norway, Al-Jazeera reports “Norwegian prosecutors on Tuesday filed a terrorism charge against Mullah Krekar, founder of the Kurdish Islamist group Ansar al-Islam.”

Looks bad :(

Anyone found any information on whether the news paper published the Cartoon? So far have worked out that it was near "Vp's offices" anyone know if they published them?

Sky News: <interview with an official in Norway> ... "So who do you think is responsible for the explosion in Norway?" ... Well isn't that the most stupid question ever? ...

A Norwegian newspaper is reporting that it was several car bombs at once.

I can't see it being that, the damage is from inside the building from those pics. Very little damage visible apart from broken windows.

Due to that I'm going to jump to conclusion of suicide bomber and as such Muslim terrorism.
I reserve the right to alter my opinion as and when we get something even resembling facts.
