Amy Winehouse found dead

What has earning respect got do to with mocking her death. Yes we all know this was bound to happen etc but thats no excuse to insult someone hours within their death. No ones asking you to respect her anymore now thats she's dead. Maybe just a show some sympathy to her family/friends.

Just good british manners..

If I knew her family or friends I would extend to them my sympathies as is respectful to them.

I have not mocked her death, I simply do not think that it deserves such an outpouring of regret and faux respect as you seem to think should be granted to someone who deserves neither.

No doubt this poor excuse of a news story will dominate the headlines... those poor teenagers in Norway need our thoughts and best wishes...

Amy winehouse found dead from a suspected drug overdose.

Apparently there was a suicide note saying she wanted to join her career.

To be fair, on BBC news the Norway attacks are still the top headlines.

I don't understand this, can we not have more than one news story? are you only able to send your "wishes" to one person or event?

Listening to Frank now, seems alright, RIP Amy

In the scheme of things her death really doesn't matter. Life will go on and Amy Winehouse is no more entitled to immortality than you or I.

Does Amy Winehouse deserve more respect or honour than the 11 people in that train crash, or the 5 soldiers who died in Afghanistan this week?

I think not.

Take that logic then, and life will also go on after the 11 that died in the train wreck, or the 5 soldiers that died in Afghanistan. I'm not saying life won't go on - heck, I didn't even like her music - but it is still sad that a young woman is dead.

That argument is flawed, and you know it. I am not saying she deserves respect, but I do not think she should be disrespected either.

The argument is not flawed because I have not stated that you should disrespect her, I merely stated that she did nothing to earn my respect in life and it would be hypocritical to infer such respect simply because she had the misfortune to die, for whatever reason.

Castiel, you agreed with the post from Tank, and his is one of the most repulsive comments I have seen in these forums.

Quite, and the point being that she deserves no more mention or grief than those who died in those incidents.

Is it sad that a young woman threw away a life and a talent in the pursuit of self gratification? Of course.

Does she deserve recognition and respect for such a life? No.

Hmmm, not so sure about that. I think she plays up to the image, but seems like quite a shrewd player to me. Certainly not as bad as Amy Winehouse

Gaga hides it better than Winehouse, she's not playing up to it and has far better PR staff than Winehouse ever did to help keep it fairly low key in comparison.

Sorry it's harsh but

Thank god! She was a right state not only in persone on stage her music was crap. her fame allowed her to live that lifestyle and thats whats killed her! Good riddence i say! No great loss really personly i feel.

I never said you mocked her death, the issue was reagarding earlier posters comments which you felt the need to defend. Comments like glad the ***** dead! which i know you wouldnt defend so asume you missed them or have been removed by the mods.

I dont think your in a position to decide who's worthy and who's not worthy of respect, which is not the point anyway.
