Amy Winehouse found dead

I am of the personal opinion that people are vilifying Tank for no good reason as he is entitled to his opinion as is everyone else, that he has a rather more blunt way of wording than I, doesn't mean that I do not agree with the sentiment he was showing or that I feel that many have overreacted to what he said on the basis of the wording rather than the actual meaning.

It is not the what, but the how. I do respect his opinion, but not the way he expressed it.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking this. I know which I find to be the bigger tragedy. Winehouse accidentally killing herself shouldn't even stir an emotional response in anyone compared to 85 (mostly young) people being massacred for no reason. THAT is tragic. The former is thoroughly deserved.

Why are people constantly trying to make a comparison between the two? You make no sense whatsoever.

What? and where? no one has a said she deserves respect for what she has acheived etc We were telling others not to be such ***** making innappropriate comments when you decided to jump in and defend them.

I do not particularly think that they are inappropriate comments. I will defend who I like and to what extend I like and neither you or anyone will stop me from doing so.

Your first post in this thread wasn't expressing sympathy toward Amy Winehouse or sadness at her death, it was an attack on the irreverent humour of people who frankly were doing nothing that has not been done for countless generations in British society. In fact irreverent British humour in these kind of circumstances infers respect of a kind. (hence I haven't make any jokes!)

I disagreed with your post, I suggest you get over it as frankly I will not change my opinion on it.

Interestingly the news website has 4 times as many comments from viewers regarding Amy Winehouse than the Norway incident has. Make of that what you will, but its interesting to me.

Again some how youve bought it back to yourself "I suggest you get over it as frankly I will not change my opinion on it." its not all about you, no ones trying to change your opinion. If you want to support comments such as "glad the **** is dead" thats your decision. And if you find that humerous, poor you.

Ever thought of a career in counselling?

i lost my older brother to a drug overdose in July 2001, he'd been an addict for most of his adult life, in the last couple of years of his life he'd had repeated stints in rehab, & within weeks of coming out her'd be sticking needles in his arms yet again, until the inevitable happened.

until a person truly, truly wants to get clean ( & he never did deep down ) they just will not pull it off.

"See I think drugs have done some good things for us. If you don't think drugs have done good things for us then do me a favor. Go home tonight and take all of your records, tapes and all your CD's and burn them. Because, you know all those musicians who made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years? Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreal *****ng high on drugs, man."

It really is quite logical. Millions of people like Amy Winehouse. Millions of people own her music.

Not many people in the UK are likely to know anything about the people that died in Norway and these types of incidents are becoming a common occurrence.

The number of comments on a news article is no indication of the level of tragedy. Unfortunately there are many massacres every day that hardly even get a mention.

Well things can be logical and interesting :)

Not to mention all the posts about how Norway is more important in the Amy Winehouse thread is magically making it bigger.

Could make some posts in the Norway thread like "On the plus side, its more important than Amy Winehouse" to balance things out I suppose.

I for one, feel sorry for her crack dealer. I'm sure his sales are going to suffer for the next few weeks until he can rebuild his clientele.
