Like it or not she won 5 grammy awards and broke america with her second album. She is as relevant as anyone on that list.
You seriously think that a singer with two albums under her belt, and a string of failed or substandard live performances has the same relevance and influence on music as Janis Joplin, who incidentally died at the same age as Amy Winehouse having been far more prolific and influencial in a largely male dominated music industry at the time.
Amy Winehouse herself laid her own inspiration at the door of Janis Joplin.
Whether you like her music or not, Amy Winehouse was a arguably a great singer, however as I am sure time will tell, her influence on the music industry as a whole does and will forever pale in significance to that of Janis Joplin and others on that list, including Miles Davis, Ray Charles and Jimmy Page. She is frankly not even in the same league as those people in this regard.
