*** London Meet - Saturday 17th Sept Please Confirm ***

Only booking a hotel if not enough people come with me for a taxi home. But still, for those having to get the train home it makes it easier for them if we are near a tube station.

It just so happened the one we were near last time didn't have anymore trains running to Waterloo so I had to walk it then get the last train to Raynes Park then a taxi costing £20 each back home.

That added to the fact I wasn't feeling well made me not a happy bunny lol

Haircut - don't know how you managed it but Mac and I tried several times getting on the district or central line, both entrances were closed. We tried taking another route, got on the tube, it went to one stop then back the way we came. Then took us 15 minutes to get out of the station because some of the exits were blocked.

Ah, that's where you went wrong.
You should have headed to Moorgate and got the Northern line down to London Bridge then Jubilee to Waterloo.

I'll try to get that weekend off. If not I can still get there, but will have the leave pretty early the next day for work. I don't start until 12, but y'know, fairly long journey.

(BTW, this means move me from maybe to attending :))

If you think it is the sort of thing you wouldn't mind you father attending, then put me down as a maybe, as I have a son in Watford who I am sure would offer me a bed for the night.

I like the idea of a meal, and possibly a few drinks, but will leave the 'clubing' to the youngsters!;)

Change me from "maybe" to a yes please SS, As have that weekend free

Be nice to meet people again who went to the last London meet and new people who didn’t get to go last time

Hi All,

Since I last messaged my work mates and I are no longer planning to go to London but....it might mean something better for us.

Will put the details in the original post :)

If you think it is the sort of thing you wouldn't mind you father attending

Not sure what you mean but the more the merrier :)

can you move me to the "maybe" list.
Just looking at "The Verve" bar, and it isn't really the sort of place I like to go too.

It's also my 30th that weekend, so I will probably be doing something with my mates anyway.

What I was getting at is... how shall I put it... that my age is almost certainly nearer to your fathers than it is to yours, and I wouldn't like to feel as if I was 'intruding' on a meet which was really aimed at the younger generation!

I do (of course!) consider myself to be 'young at heart', and a fairly sociable sort of chap who would enjoy meeting some of the regular forum members. :)

Lol I highly doubt that as my dad is 81! Last time we had a mix of ages. Didnt bother any of us :)

... and here's me thinking that you were one of the 20 somethings! ;)

You still could be though, I suppose! :)

I am not (quite!) that old yet though, and the idea of a drink (or two!) and a meal in good company should make for a very enjoyable evening, so I will have to start making a few preliminary plans, and then take it from there.

Check out the Porter House in Covent garden, that is a great pub and is a bit of a tardis. Around the same area for dinner there is http://www.cafepacifico-laperla.com/cpl.html
and there are a load of Samuel Smith pubs in the area which sell their own booze (mini brewery) at about £2.80 a pint!

Club wise Zoo would please most peoples music tastes, I'm just a snobby ******* when it comes to going 'clubbing'.

Yup, not been in while, but I love the porterhouse. Good selection of drinks always packed across all floors.

A little ;) However, I don't want too many stickies. As soon as the meet is done, I promise you I'll sticky this one and unstick the Brighton one. Deal? :)

Glasgow meet doesn't need any of that exposure, everyone wants to come to it! No one forgets about the awesomeness that will be an OcUK'd Glasgow 2011! ;)
(More shameless advertising ;))
