Ibiza and the clubs!

Well I had the best week in ibiza I've ever had! Only got drunk up west end once thank god, what a dump! Rest of the time I just chilled out in the day, few chilled beers in linekers by evening then smashed a club every night!

Saturday 16th: West end followed by local DJ's in Eden
Sunday 17th: Eddie & Jordan Suckley @ Judgment Sundays - Eden
Monday 18th: Sven Vath & Loco Dice @ Cocoon - Amnesia
Tuesday 19th: Ferry Corsten, Marco V & Lange @ Full on Ferry - Sankeys
Wednesday 20th: Sander Van Doorn, Richard Durrand & Aly+Fila @ Gods Boombox - Privilege
Thursday 21st: Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Chris Lake, Calvin Harris @ Cream - Amnesia
Friday 22nd: Pendulum, Mark Ronson, Rusko etc @ Come Together - Space

Also pre-parties for Sankeys & Godskitchen were held at Itaca near Linekers and saw Ferry Corsten and Aly & Fila in a bar with about 50 people in it.... AMAZING :)

Next year going to stay at playa d'en bossa for sure, I'm getting too old for all the ****ed up teenagers, heavy handed bouncers and trouble in the west end @ San Antonio.

Cocoon the music didn't really do it for me, but glad I went for the experience but I'm trance through and through for sure! Plus any excuse to go to Amnesia!

Full on Ferry @ Sankeys was awesome, Marco V, Ferry & Lange absolutely smashed it... Also Markus Schulz made an appearance behind the decks at one point! The club was also friendly with a nice chilled out smoking area and free ice was a bonus! Definately the best music of the holiday but nothing award winning in terms of club & production.

Godskitchen Boombox was great but the club was too big, it really did appear dead in there, bad idea having a new hardly publicised night at the biggest club on the island. Sander Van Doorn, Richard Durrand and Aly & Fila were great as expected although would have preferred SVD on last to keep the tempo going. As awesome as Aly & Fila were, didn't quite cut it in an empty 10k capacity club at 7am!

Cream @ Amnesia..... still the best night on the island IMO. Very disappointed though as was looking forward to the trance DJ's on the terrace as that is my favourite room but they were in the club room as usual! However Chris Lake was great on the terrace and when he dropped Artys around the world tune I was in heaven! Went into the club room about 4am... PVD dropping some good tunes as expected but his set didn't flow very well and by 5am I was ready to go home thinking I'd missed Ferry.... then I saw his cheeky little grin appear in the DJ box and the crowd went mental. Poor old PVD packed his laptops up without so much as a cheer and Ferry smashed it again till 7am.... Third time seeing him in one week and I still wasn't bored!

Friday, well had to go and check space out as I'd never been. Not really my sort of music but I did surprisingly enjoy Mark Ronsons DJ set, really got the crowd going. Nice club, and wish I'd gone on the Wednesday to see Markus Schulz on the terrace but the lure of gods boombox was too much!

Very tempted to fly out for A State Of Trance party at Space on 7th September. Lineup is insane, just depends if I can get a good deal and a couple of days off work!

I just got back from Ibiza this morning, simply put the best week i've ever had.

My best nights were Spaced and Zoo, with Ushuaia tied with Zoo basically!

I'm getting a hotel at Ushuaia next year no doubt, make sure you go Zoo on a saturday, don't go on a wednesday as it's dieing out.

Priviledge didn't really do it for me personally, neither did Eden.

Linikers is a great place to start drinking also.

I have been invited to a wedding on the White Isle next year and CANNOT WAIT! :D

Been needing an excuse to go back... at least that's my summer holiday sorted :p

How was your holiday DJMK4?

I had some awesome nights and one feeling atrocious. Drank way too much one the way there and first night. However fought through it and went space (we love) until 7am the day after.

Swedish house mafia at Pacha was full to the brim so stayed in VIP most of the night and drank way too much. At around 6am on the way out was sold something and ate the lot, was a total mess and apparently talking to the tv back at the hotel room at 10am, thinking plants were my mates and stuff and generally not in a good way. Day was a total wright off.

Days after was still not feeling normal but godskitchen was good and cream was awesome as expected. I want to go back already but still dont feel quite right. Good job ive got this week off work :)

For my first taste of ibiza, having been to amsterdam and endless clubbing in the uk. I feel it wins hands down, I'm not going to compare it to my uk clubbing as they have two special places in my heart.

The place I stayed i was in awe. My balcony overlooked the coast, I was about 30 paces from cafe del mar. That's how awsome my place was. I had my mate to thank for that as he was working there for the summer. Music was spot on all the way through, went to 3 big nights, steve angello at ibiza rocks was the night we arrived and was free entry into Ibiza rocks, belter of a night, days were either sat by pool, we had a nice deep private pool, orkelling down calla
grasio (sp) beach.

Then comes space for fake blood! Was really looking forward to seeing him and wasn't dissapointed, other Djs that night also rocked and I got my first taste of space.

We done some bars down the west end on off nights and went in the v bar which was supposed to be an atomic Ibiza night but didnt hear a single bit of hardhouse, wasn't too bad though. Also went in to es paradis for a bit of hed kandi, as my mate got us in for free

To finish off the holiday we all went to see tiesto @ privilidge, this was bloody amazing!!!!!

Does anyone remember the black guy with dreds at the bottom of the west end giving out flyers/tickets? Ledge!!Apparently he is there every year

GT3 - Agreed about Privilege, was too big a club for a night hardly advertised. We walked right to the front and it was good but nothing amazing.
I didnt really like Privilege before when I went though, way too big and impersonal

To say you only got drunk once and did all those night you must have been on it was other stuff. Unfortunately most of my mates dont get on the good stuff, only one of them.

When I go back I definately want to do Zoo project, Tiesto and DC10. Might stay in Bora Bora but its ultimate party zone there. I think my Ibiza lesson this time is dont get too drunk! I would have preferred a few drinks by mambo and maybe some further up san an beach then going to a club, rather than get destroyed on Rum in our hotel room or pints of vodka redbull in westend... think I must be getting old, was way more hardcore when I went when I was 21 in 2006 :(

Going to Ibiza for 4 midweek nights for the first time in under 2 weeks. I'm not massively into my trance/house dance so the 4 of us have booked/are planning on doing the following:

Monday: Random bars and clubs, promotion hunting and generally getting our bearings
Tuesday: Pukka Up boat party + Carl Cox @ Space
Wednesday: Basement Jaxx + Sneaky Sound System @ Pacha
Thursday: Cafe del Mar

Can't wait. Flights and accommodation cost £200 as well which is always nice. Staying in Playa den Bossa so we're near all the clubs we're going to bar Cafe del Bar.

As already said, do Cream after Cafe del Mar. Amnesia is the best club in the world
On Monday find your bearings then get to either Pacha for Swedish house mafia or Privilege for Tiesto. Once you have your bearing in Ibiza they will be lost after the first night anyway!

Cream was good this year but nothing compared to Cream meets Goodgreef I did in 2006. Paul Van Dyk was pretty weak IMO then everyone was brought back to life by Ferry Costen. Certainly nothing on Eddie Halliwell in 06

I really didn't enjoy Amnesia as much as everyone else seems to, I think I was still recovering a bit from Tiesto at Privlege the night before (best night we had there).

I didn't rate Eden either, thought rivilege and Es Paradis were better.

Word of warning - They can be really funny about you taking cameras into some of the clubs.

^ they are just arses in general at Privilige. One of my mates neally didnt get in because I he didnt have ID and I printed his ticket with his name on instead of mine. Bouncers went and got management and we pleaded to get in so he didnt have to get 2 taxis, spending ~60 euros just to get his ID.

We got in and they took my poi off me but strangly, not my camera. Had no trouble getting in anywhere else

Can't say I had any bad experiences there tbh, think the worst thing about the night was them opening the queue later than normal, then the mediocre music before Tiesto came on, but you get that in most clubs before the head liners kick off.

had no trouble with security.

Sounds like an amazing time was had! Got me most envious!

I was in Ibiza only a few weeks back, and whilst we were a young crowd (just graduated 18 year olds) it was probably one of the most epic weeks of partying that I've had.

Aside from the first night, our nights consisted of pre drinking at the hotel, more pre drinking on the san antonio strip followed then by the club of the night. If I remember correctly we got up to the following:

El Paradise: Water Festival and I <3 Geek Party (free geek glasses at the door), both of which were pretty insane and easy to get into for free (look for people giving out pink wristbands along the coast before El Paradise, saved us a good 70 euros).

Privilidge: Something crazy like 15000 people were expected to be there since it was opening night, and I guess it was good but my girlfriend got smacked in the face by some random and that just killed the night and maybe it was just that night but Privilidge was quite a let down.

V-Bar: In case your in the mood for hard rock/metal then it's quite a nice bar hidden away on bottom of the san antonio strip, good times there.

Pacha: We were there for the opening night of Swedish House Mafia and it was nice to see so many people inside going wild for the songs (not really a fan of SHM), so there was a good atmosphere, but as someone else pointed out before, there is a lot of people there (specially towards the VIP/DJ area) that just kill the mood by trying to be posh and show off their "money". Decent night there though.

Eden: Got in a deal at some bar that gave us more pre drinks that we could finish, partybus to Eden and a deal on the entrance price, so I was absolutely trashed by the time we got there and everything went by in a second but the pictures say it was a good night so guess you should check it out haha.

Paintballing in Ibiza is also an idea if you're there, there is one maybe 10min outside of San Antonio owned by some Dutch guy who pumps hardstyle whilst you play on this well made arena.

Amsterdam bar is also a cool place to go drink, they have some pretty nice deals and phlorescent pens that you can write on the wall with, pretty entertaining whilst drunk.

Really wanna go back to Ibiza next year to check out all the other clubs I missed out on due to spending 3/4 of my budget way too quickly this year so had to miss out on Professor Green at some club.

Edit: Oh and I was super disapointed to not find any raves or anywhere playing hardstyle, that would have just been the icing on the cake. Otherwise had a great time

We did VIP, a table of 6 is 900 euros and includes entry, the table, unlimited soft drinks and 3 bottles of spirits (me and my mates had 7 year havana) Entry alone is 70 euros, my other mates who didnt do VIP had 5 drinks which came to just under 100 euros, plus the entry.
VIP worked a lot cheaper than normal.

The only thing was you were sort of sectioned for the night, as it was WAY to busy to get anywhere near the main floor. Our other mates who didnt do VIP said they could just about move from bar to toilet but it was like a cattle market. At least in the VIP area we had room to breath

I was disappointed by the lack of harder dance music too. Its been replaced by Dubstep unfortunately. I was going to go to Amnesia for the following on tuesday but didnt as was feeling terrible and I think it would have killed the Amnesia trance feel

* Chase & Status (DJ Set)
* Skrillex
* Crookers
* Sub Focus (DJ Set)

Dont get me wrong, I love Dubstep and have been to many Dubstep nights in UK. I just dont think Ibiza is ready for it yet (doesnt seem to fit in with the House/Trance mood)
