Difference between GTX560 and GTX560Ti?

so these cards run hot?
Depends on the case in terms of fresh air supply and airflow. Mine is a small Antec NSK3480 with relatively good airflow, but no direct fresh air supply to the card. Also, the Gigabyte fans were maxing at about 2100 rpm, which was not enough to keep temperatures down. The reference GTX 560 Ti fan goes up to 5000 rpm.

im lost now :( so is the GTX560 going to be poor compare to the GTX560Ti in both speed and temps?

mines in a HAF 912 Plus case, temps with the 2 HD6850s seem fine, never runs fans over 75% and temps i dont think go over the 70s i think, not really looked as they never seem to be hot.

Most likely you will be fine with that bigger case given that your HD6850s were all right. The GTX 560 Ti will be better in terms of speed and temps, but by not enough to justify the rather large price difference.

and the GTX460, even with the 2GB of Vram isnt worth the extra £28 or whatever it was over the GTX560 with 1GB?

There shouldn't be any problems with AA, in fact one curious observation is that running FurMark with 8x AA on a GTX 560 seems to produce lower temperatures than FurMark without AA.

Hi there

A GTX 560 is an overclocked GTX 460. As such the GTX 460 is the better value card without a doubt. :)

A GTX 560Ti has more processing cores.

Also a GTX 460 has a better quality PCB and generally uses better quality components, compared to the regular GTX 560.

Don't worry about it to be honest, both are great cards, I just feel at present pricing the GTX 460 is better value.

Though I am about to do a GTX 560 deal, I'd still personally buy a 460. :)

haha phoned up our supplier and changed to the 2GB GTX460.

i would love to buy from you guys but unfortunatly i need to get it on credit until my 2 HD6850s sell.

should keep me going until next year when new cards come out i hope.

ok, so going from AMD to Nvidia, what do i need to do, just remove cards uninstall CCC with Add/Remove Programs and then fit new card and install latest drivers?

This all looks a bit of a backwards step to me.

The GTX 460 2GB offers very little performance gain over a GTX 460 1GB in the vast majority of games and Crossfired HD 6850's beat a GTX 460 1GB hands down.

GTX 460 2GB compared with 1GB and 768MB

CF HD 6850 v GTX 460 1GB

this may be so, but i cannot get my cards to utilise their potential for whatever reason, and i have had enough of patches, reinstalls, lowering settings, install software to force settings.........
would rather just get one card to see me through until the next gen. and nvidia seems to be the best way forward.

A single HD 6850 is at least on a par with a GTX 460 so if you've had enough of Crossfire the easiest option is to sell one of your HD 6850's rather than try to sell both and buy a GTX 460.
