350Z Mini write up & road trip.

I like these, I couldn't think of many better ways to spend £7500.

In all honesty though I'm not sure on the colour, but I do like it.

Well, I did say many better ways.

:p

Surely the Z will be cheaper to maintain as well though, that seems pretty cheap for a Z4 unless they are that cheap now.

They are that cheap now for a 03/04 plate, hence i want one, hence i almost opted for one as a first car! (it's only £1k more than my Yaris ! lol)

I'll definitely be exploring more up north, some stunning places to visit. As for the weather it'd hard to say, unpredictable is probably the best way to describe it.

So you bought a Yaris instead? What's the matter with you! :p

You know...RWD, 3.0L, kinda knew i would wrap it round a tree with only 7 hours of driving experience by myself LOL .

That and insurance would be doubled the cost of the Yaris as I have zero NCB.

I am thinking next year or 2 with some experience and NCB. :D Yaris is all paid for you see, only running cost on it is Petrol and insurance and tax. If you are looking for a decent as a first car, reliable with low running cost, Yaris ticks all the boxes .... it just happens I got one with 1.8L in it :D Kinda preparing myself for that 3.0L yo!

Yeah, you've done the wise thing, running costs and insurance would really take the cost up quite a bit with a Z4 like that.

We just did 4 days in Oban (did Loch Fyne on the way back) shortly after the Turkish GP. It rained non-stop for all the time, other than a couple of hours when we were driving back to the airport! Pure luck up there sometimes - the week before was apparently stunning.

Got a few pictures in though http://www.flickr.com/photos/gregkingston/sets/72157626744888164/

None of the car. It was a hire - Insignia 2.0. Horrible, horrible car.

That's bad luck, I'd love to do a week touring about but its just the weather that puts me off. I'd hate to get all the time booked off work and hotels sorted only for it to **** down the entire time. Chance you have to take I suppose.

we camped at port avadie about 4 weeks ago which is about 50miles up from glasgow and it rained the whole time :( one highlight tho. Comming home we were driving along and there was a massive valley to the right of us. 2 small planes were flying side by side along the valley but they were below us. Was an amazine sight to look down on 2 planes. Shame we didnt get a snap.

Whos up for an ocuk meet at a lock hehe

Whats the deal with the road tax on these things? I looked on parkers and it comes back with the following (350z 300)...

Code:
Date of Registration 6 Months 12 Months Band CO2 (g/km)

17 Feb 2006 – 23 Mar 2006 £143.00 £260.00 K 280
23 Mar 2006 – 31 Mar 2007 £253.00 £460.00 M 280
So if one was to think about going after one of these, it would be a 300 from early 2006? Biggest bang for the buck going that the tax doubles after that!?

My god I love how the road tax system works.

I'd own another, great little write up. I do miss mine occasionally, the noise was superb and it was a nice drive apart from lots of road noise which I don't notice in my Z4M (possibly due to my louder setup ;))

1.) Get that girl off the paintwork :D
2.) Get some new wheels
3.) Get a JWT popcharger
4.) Enjoy!

I am very jealous of your scenery up there, looks like a fun trip.
