Yeah armed response in the UK are hot on armed reports, all it takes is a granny to see an Airsoft weapon put into a car, and she could call the police about it. How are the police to know if its real or not so would be called anyway. It is so easy now days to be caught out like that.

:eek::(. I remember when you could just buy whatever you wanted from wolf armouries and the other one. Got myself an armalite M15A4 and a Hicappa just before the ban came in. Really want some others but theres no chance now as I dont airsoft :mad:.

Have to get back into it again and get out there. When was the ban bought in?
 
Do you need a license to use a airsoft weapon that isn't two tone that you already own? I have a few nice bits of airsoft kit that I used to use before the place I went to closed, which is when I stoped it (this was all before the VCR bill was passed), so do I need a license to use the guns I already have or will a skirmish site just make me use two-tone guns that they rent me?

I am not too sure on all of the ins and the outs but you can get some detail on the licenceing here. UKARA
 
Pretty sure the license is only required to buy the kit online, altho some sites might be strict about seeing a licence when you join if you intend to use your own weapons, but I doubt it.

It's not a license, it's a defense, there is a difference. The VCRA also imposes no restrictions on owning RIFs or IFs, just the sale import and manufacture of them. I suppose it was done this way so as not to harm current players, if you already have the stuff, then you will be ok.

That being said it's all a bit of a mess, no-one has been to court for anything and as such, no-one knows if it works.

For the record two tones are the same guns but with an extra paint job, either by the retailer or the manufacturer, thus they work out more than the RIF originally. Some sites also won't two tone certain things, because some things should not be two toned. It's worth noting that some manufacturers make see through guns, these are also treated as IFs and as such, only require you to be over 18.

Most big companies you need to be UKARA registered, which you can do with your local Airsoft Host.

However some places are smaller than others and may not be as strict, but in Falkirk for Players of War Airsoft, you need to play 2-3 games over 2 months to get UKARA registered, allowing you to purchase your own weapons - equipment like armour/bb holders can be bought without.

Also you will get your weapon check at P.O.W for FPS regulations and rules they have in place there. Also Snipers (BB Sniper Weapons) Are permitted to those at P.O.W if they have passed the Sniper Training Scheme at the P.O.W airsoft site.
 
It look's good fun. I still don't rate it above paint balling though I'm affraid.

They need to find a way to make the weapons noisier. It ruin's the atmosphere somewhat just hearing quiet puffs all the time.

What is the effective range of most airsoft weapons?
