Car Black Boxes

I got it in the end, here's a sample video of the performance at night. It is recording 720p 30fps but it'll go up to 1080p
Really impressed with it so far, I can hardly see it behind my rear-view mirror and i hid the power cable around the edge of the windscreen, now I can just leave it to do its thing

I bet in the future the CPS will be very happy that everyone seems to be really keen to record the evidence for the prosecution in any driving related court cases :p

It's only a micro SD card, very easy to swallow if the need arose :p lol.

I use autoguard for android. Really nice app records all the GPS data and speed and displays this on a map.

Have a car dock on the dash so it only takes 20 seconds to put the phone in the dock.

I doubt there will ever be a ruling for in-car video recording to become mandatory. There are too many invasion of privacy issues to be considered (unsolicited recording of other road users).

It's taken them long enough to get the mandatory eCall devices, which will be required in new vehicles from 2014.

thing is, if your the sort of person that would admit if you're at fault, you've nothing to lose.

For me personally, if i'm at fault i'll say so. So if the CPS have evidence to prove it, i'm not going to get punished any worse than i would have if i didn't have the camera.

But if i'm not in the wrong and the other person is lying ... well then its instantly paid for itself.

But if the camera isn't active when the engine isn't on, then who is to say that you did/did not drive into the car infront... as opposed to them who actually reversed into you?
