How much debt do you have?

£2643 on CC :(, was doing well then car insurance got wacked up from 175 to 350!. 10years ncb, no accidents or clames, phoned around everywhere wasn't impressed :(

Jesus:eek: was it worth it?

Looking back now NO but we can all look back and say DOH.

My dad did his best to talk me out of it. But I still got the escort turbo.

But I just loved cars. Do have 50 people round your car at santa pod after doing a 13 sec run OVER 10 years ago was epic for me.

I got hooked on going faster and faster. NEVER had points btw. Not a child killer :p

I paid nearly a grand for a front mount intercooler from grs motor port. Front mounts on cars back 10 years ago was not heard off

Plus fast cars = back seat fun time all the time :p :D

hmm I should probably add mine up at some stage.. lets see.. 2k on 2 credit cards, about 13k left on the car, maybe 1k left on the kitchen and about 1800 on a overdraft. That doesn't sound so bad? Not including the 200k mortgage of course.

Car and kitchen are paid monthly with direct debits. Credit cards I pay the min each month and bung in what I can so are reducing (managed £300 this month! woo!).

Edit: Biggest loan I had was for a RX8, got 18k from the bank. Sold the car about 18 months later and managed to get £15k - I was lucky as it was shortly before oil caused everything to dive and the RX8 values to plumet.

I thought mens insurance was supposed to be going down and womens insurance was going up? Neil were you being a woman to get cheaper car insurance???

Everything and anything. Holidays, fine dining, mountain bikes, computers, books, games. Basically when I got my student account I had never had £3000 (OD + Loan) to spend, ever. So I spanked it all away in about a month then you just want to keep up that lifestyle. I got pretty down about it when I had to sell my bikes and things just to stay alive. Can't believe I missed this summer season of riding. Never again.

Yup lifestyle for me as well. Doesnt help when my dad has nice cars etc :(

But he gone above and beyond his role as a a dad. But that's not for here And no he doesn't touch me lol

There's a great saying that I can't quite remember, so I'll paraphrase instead.

The thought is that a lof the the time we enjoy the anticipation of the purchase more than the we enjoy the object after we've bought it. So shopping around for prices, having the idea that we're going to buy it in our head - this can be fun and pleasurable, but when we actually hand over the money the excitement dies, and a few days later we realise we've got another bunch of DVDs we'll never watch.

Haha I hear ya ;)

Well atleast you could say you experienced the wild side of fast cars, ladies and friends box sets :)

I have to be really careful as if someone gets in to something, like an expensive hobby I'll end up following

Excluding the mortgage, got 2.4k on cc which i've just shunted to a 2 year interest free balance transfer barclaycard and cancelled the old cc and cut up the new barclaycard so I'm not tempted. Setup a direct debit that will clear it in 12 months without impacting much on my disposable cash.

Win :)

Oh yeah forgot the classic spending as well. CREDIT CARD MOOOONEYZZZ. you get drunk And take out £100 on a credit card. Do that just 10 times a year. There is a grand lol. I used to party every thu,fri and Saturday.

Wow that is so true. My nc10, IPad and computed just to name a few where all like that

Other than my student loans (18k), nothing thankfully.

Ive have been living in my overdraft for the last probably 9 months but this payday just gone im finally into the plus :D Means from now on all the money I have after rent and stuff will accutally be mine! Start saving for a new car! Whoop

Other than student loans (which I should be paying back now, must call HMRC) I owe the grand total of £0. I'm so boring :p

Madness, I have had a CC for nearly 8 years and never withdrawn money from an ATM via CC account, infact never used CC in a shop/supermarket, its always been online for the protection they offer. Cash withdrawals have a crazy APR. No wonder you was out 3 nights a week, I could only afford one night a week and even then didn't go daft, doubt I have ever spent £100 on a night in UK.

Luckly now I am man of simple pleasure and make do with what I have and keep myself active and have no time for shopping any more, on-line or in shops, bores me now, rather be out running or cycling or in the gym, bar the gym its free :D
