Rockstar - what's the deal?

Very annoying they have abandoned the pc players. I thought the pc crowd bought more of the gta games than the console players as they were pretty good games albeit gta 4 wasn't so much as they strayed too far from the fun and move to realism (animations and such) too much.

Still id have thought they would be eager for pc gamers but they aren't any more. :(

I have a feeling tho that because of the issue when it gta4 came out a lot of pc users complained of bad fps and said it was a bad port and all that. It wasnt so much a bad port as the game didnt have many bugs just a lot of fps issues but that was because it required really a tri or quad core cpu which probably the casual pc player base hasnt upgraded to and so all the complaining. Maybe Rockstar thought that well not do more ports because the games were doing need tri or better core support so well wait for the mainstream userbase of the pc market to move to tri or quads then do ports again.

Tho imo i think enough of us have tri or better core pcs now so that point is mute. But i just say the above as i reckon that "might" be a reason they stopped with the ports. And they "might" port them when the majority of pc users are on tri or quads. But when "they" think enough of the pc user base are on them setups, who knows.

I actually emailed Rockstar about two weeks ago through the mouth box on their main webpage, it lets you ask them anything. I had a reply stating that there are no plans to release Red Dead Redemption on PC.

Even though I played and completed the original game i have left the all DLC as i wanted to try it on the PC. Don't think i'll buy it at all now if they're not bothering with my preferred format.

I'm still hopeful for La Noire though, i left that alone on consoles as The Witcher 2 was out the same week.

If anyone else wants to ask them a question, or just spam a lot for a RDR release on PC click here

Regarding RDR. I have a feeling their maybe a pc version announced this year because i think their is a GOTY edition coming out so that might be the end of the DLC and that might trigger a pc version as they can sell the game with all the DLC in it as standard for pc users. Just a hunch.

It is. Don't know who is to port it tho as rockstar didnt make LA Noire just helped a lot with a diff studio. Also RS and the other studio fell out so who knows if it will be delayed due to legal issues.

After GTA4 they realised they're **** developers and don't understand how to make games for the PC properly. So, they've given up and just factor on making console games.

PC versions would be much better mind you.
There's an old saying that a mate of mine once told me - you can't polish a turd. LA Noire falls under that catagory firmly. Being on the PC doesn't automatically improve the game in any way. LA is one grossly overhyped title and is apparently coming to the PC. RDR isn't though, which is a shame because whilst also being a dull game it is better then LA.

The deal is probably that they don't see a market big enough for Read Dead on PC, and maybe they are only releasing LA Noire because it was developed by Team Bondi (so limits their exposure financially? Just grasping at straws here).

I have had a beef with them since they released GTA4 in such an appalling state for PC, and I would suggest you reward some other company with your money if you want to support game development on the PC.

I would suggest reading the LA Noire thread in the consoles forum (specifically the last 5-10 pages or so) before you start getting excited about LA Noire. Many people have come to the conclusion that it's an exceptionally dull and unremarkable game once the initial novelty of the facial animations wears off.
