Logitech been ripped off - to grass or not?

Can't be asked to read through the thread but yes report him. By sending you replaced items from logitech with false claims there is a risk of you getting into trouble.
I actually remember there being a dedicated thread on this little scheme on a hacking forum. People would used a fake PID generator to get logitech item details, then call them up and claim the free item.

Why? He has proof it was bought through eBay and the seller is the one doing the scamming.

Will be nice to see the guy imprisoned for fraud.

Not suprised but still saddened to see someone abusing the system :( close minded ***** spoiling it for everyone :S hope it can be proved and he gets to feel the law.

Naming and shaming an individual can be a dicey proposition so I wouldn't recommend it. Also, seeing as both OCuk and Logitech are involved now I'd have thought it best not to interfere.

This really!

It may hamper any investigation, and if it does all turn out to be above board (You just never know!) you have done a bad thing.

You'd happily allow your taxes to be spent on imprisoning a bloke for making a few hundred quid out of a mice and speaker scam? :o

"Looking at his feedback and his current listings, he's doing this about 10-15 times a week, each time pocketing between £50 and £120."

Sounds like he could easily be making £1000 a week...

That's merely conjecture from the OP - we are yet to see the full facts. But let's not let something daft like conclusive evidence get in the way of the the dailymail-esque knee jerk reaction of "he's obviously guilty and making loads of money every week, so chuck him in prison!"

Its fraud. Defrauding a company, and defrauding people. I bet they also have a few other 'scams' on the go. If they are generating PID's, then it might be your mouse thats already been replaced under warranty, and is now null and void.

If the bloke is scamming my beloved Logitech then yes. Ideal punishment would be him locked into some stocks so I can throw rotten tomatoes at him.

Is that the conclusion of your thorough investigation? Can you present us with evidence that this is fraud? Or is this just more conjecture? :o

??

If it as the op is written, then yes. Its fraud. Why would you think otherwise? Read above, I am against naming and shaming because there is a chance its above board. Although it really doesn't sound it.

Or do I have to type allegedly after every word?

Its fraud (allegedly). Defrauding a company (allegedly), and defrauding people (allegedly). I allege they also have a few other 'scams' on the go. If they are allegedly generating PID's, then it might be your mouse thats already been replaced under warranty, and is now null and void (allegedly).

Better ?

Is that the conclusion of your thorough investigation? Can you present us with evidence that this is indeed contrary to the Fraud Act 2006? Or is this just more conjecture? :o

The whole thread is conjecture.

What's the point in this sort of guff reply?

If everything is accurate in the story, then yes it would appear to be alledged fraud.

Where's your 'case' to say otherwise? (See how silly this is?)

How do we know the seller doesn't have a stock of faulty Logitech items which he is replacing legitimately?

By all means report him so it can be investigated properly, but it's the guilty before proven innocent with remarks such as "I'd happily see him go to prison" which irk me.

My mistake. I didn't realise that OPs on GD were taken as solid fact without any sort of evidence required. OcUK posters normally require pictures with hovis etc. before they believe anything.

Logitech RMA replacements are normal retail boxed items, if the seller hadn't of included the RMA invoice then nobody would know that the item was an RMA replacement.
