I see it all the time. 99% of the time it's a woman/girl or a pensioner sitting in the middle lane at 50mph.

So what do you do? Do the right thing and swing out two lanes and overtake and then move back across another two lanes... or just sit where you are and undertake them!!

I used to do the right thing, but it just really gets on my nerves these days.

I actually undertook a woman tonight, she was doing 60mph in the middle lane as usual... bypass was near enough empty. I was in the left lane catching up on her. I was sitting at 75mph. I passed her and then all I see is a big flash in my right wing mirror... the passanger had taken a photo of my car. Either he really liked it... or he wanted to take his evidence to the police!

Oh Dear! Anyone else experienced middle lane photographers?

I safely overtake them in the correct manner and continue with my journey without giving it a second thought. Getting in a rage and trying to teach other road users a lesson is pathetic.

I totally agree. I always remain very calm when undertaking. I even smile at them on the way past. :)

I don't always undertake them - depends on the traffic conditions but if I do undertake I usually just flip them the bird, then carry on with my journey.

i hate when im on an airport run sat on my limiter at 60 with the trailer on, and some muppets in the middle lane.
I cant use the outside lane by law (not to mention im not generally moving fast enough to do it without slowing someone down) and the 'tards wont move from the middle doin 50-55, VERY annoying

I don’t usually do it as it doesn’t take much effort to get past them safely but if it’s very clear just like a bat out of hell. They don’t even know I’ve gone past.

whats the picture going to show? only that one car was in front of another.... would need a video to show the undertake....

anyway I thought it was ok to undertake if you were following the flow of the traffic??

I'd be tempted to undertake, switch to the middle lane in front, and slow down to 45 mph :p

it depends. If the inside lane is totally clear then i'll just drive through inside. If there's a truck or even slower driver a few hundred yards in front meaning i'll have to pull out almosy immediately then i'll pull out and go around just in case there is a copper about who got out on the wrong side of bed and may accuse me of weaving through traffic.

This middle lane hogging is getting silly though. On saturday morning i was on M6 north a few miles before J6. You could do 80 in the nearside lane (almost clear) 80 in the outside lane (Clear) but the middle lane was congested and doing 60. I wanted to get off at J6 and guess what....no one would let me pull in.

It's not your fault they don't know how to drive. If your cruising along doing nothing wrong (ie within the speed limit etc) just stay where you are.

I do, unless the traffic infront of is running at a slower pace. If it's slower than the middle lane cruiser they (the middle lane person) are in fact doing the right thing (as long as there isn't a massive distance between them), so you have to go around.

If it's a clear road, then I will overtake. If it's a busy road then the likelihood is that the slow lane is full of lorries, so the person sitting in the middle lane is doing nothing wrong, so I'll overtake.

People in the middle lane don't bother me, morons in the fast lane going too slowly when the rest of the road is clear pee me off.
