I am content user of a USB Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 4.0A, connected to a PS2 port. I want a new mouse, because the buttons are becoming harder to press, and it's fading - two perfect excuses for a new mouse.
Don't get me wrong, I hated the smooth feeling of the non-mechanical scroll wheel - but now I don't mind it. In a way, I'd prefer a non-mechanical scroll wheel in my new mouse.
Shock...horror - I did own a MX-510, so thought I'd try a MX-518, but I couldn't get away with it. It was fine to use, but it didn't feel right - maybe because I've had this one for so long, I just needed to give it time.
Number one priority is connectivity - it must be a wired mouse. I know the lag in a wireless mouse is minimal, but I don't like it.
Second priority is price - over £40, is beyond sensible.
Spec away.
