Well it kind of is. These comics are more of a western culture thing aren't they. I would probably consider it modern if they put a load of white people in a bollywood movie (bad example). Basically I am trying to say I understand what the OP is saying. Just really bad at explaining right now.

It doesn't bother me that they're making the new Spidey black/Latino. What bothers me is the reason why they're doing it: purely and completely for racial reasons.
