Gunman on Virginia Tech campus

My point being they should be able to back these reports up with something substancial before reporting them if it turns out to be somthing innocent they can then at least say "Possible gunman Found to be carrying sandwich" instead of causing mass panic and finding out there was no need.

If it's in the news and on Twitter or whatever then at least it will keep people in the area more informed and vigilant, even if it turns out to be a water pistol or nothing at all. I agree there's no need for mass panic but I still think it's newsworthy.

A man with a gun in America is newsworthy? I bet there have been plenty of shootings and firearm related incidents that the American police have had to deal with today, should they all be reported in the news?

I've already said my bit, if you can't see how someone potentially carrying a gun on a college campus where 32 people were shot and killed only a handful of years ago is newsworthy then...
 
So, the real question we have to ask is... What videogame has he been playing that has been the cause of this, which films need to be condemned, and finally, what bands should there be public outcry against, because you know, its always somebody else's fault, and not the fact that the individual himself, is a looney.

I don't want to sound harsh but these news stories about shootings are getting tiresome and boring. A few years back it was beheading, now it's an epidemic of school/random shootings... what next?

Also right to bear arms in the U.S, their own fault to be honest.
