No to it, too expensive for not enough gain.

Now I know this is OcUK so I'm pretty sure I can predict the general response to this question

a dozen page deadlocked thread where the for and against half's go round in circles endlessly like every other thread on it?

I signed the "Keep F1 on the BBC" petition. Don't see the point of the death penalty one - it's never going to happen now it's incompatible with European law.

The main issue I have with the death penalty is one of doubt.

I'm glad e-petitions are getting noticed but not as glad as I am that Parliament will never reintroduce the death penalty in my lifetime.

I have no problem with the death penalty as a punishment, but of course I do have a problem with wrongly convicted people being killed as a result of it. As such, there will never be a death penalty in this country again.

mistakes made involving the death penalty would tend to be rather permanent, so that'll be a no from me.

This comes around every 10 years, and is soon to be discussed in parliament (Because of petition)
MP's will shy away from it due to stigma.
May get through if there was a refferendum, but we would have to pull out of the EU.

If it is intended for the worst repeat offenders - murderers, rapists, child molesters who will never be rehabilitated and will always be a danger to society I'm all for it.

Implemented in the cheapest way possible, i.e. thrown off a cliff.

signed three of the keep F1 on the BBC petitions (the other 86 were declined).

looked for the 'Jeremy Clarkson for PM' one but couldnt find it

would say no to the death penalty, but that life sentences should be just that - LIFE in prison
