High quality stylish wear or rip-offs. What do you think?

I was always in the camp of rip off as I couldn't see the sense in paying £70+ for a polo shirt with a horse or crocodile on.

However, I recently was given a BOSS Polo from my brother. It was too smallfor him (he's a big lad). I have to say i'm converted. The feel is superb, the fit is much better than any polo I have had and the quality is terrific. I'm thinking about buying some more higher priced gear.

Do you think the labels are worth the extra?

Depends on the brand. Levi jeans, for example, are fantastic :)

diesel jeans are the best fitting jeans i have ever worn and the quality is good, will last for years. well worth the price.

Good quality designer clothes/bags etc do tend to be my preference. Cuts are sharper, material is nicer, fit is better

"Buy cheap buy twice" is so true.

Even good trendy brands can bring out some thoroughly naff clothes. Has anyone seen those awful Ralph Lauren polo t-shirts with the HUGE logo on them? Woeful :o

It's like visually biting a lemon. Really tacky.

This always goes the same way.

GD Goon 1 - "Nothing wrong with Primark jeans. 5 pairs for $7, you're all stupid for paying more!"

GD Goon 2 - "I only dress in designer clothes and don't know what Primark is."

GD Goon 3 - "I go to a normal shop and buy normal things."

Choose your number, I guess.

Or GD Goon 4 - post something erroneous for the lulz ;)

I generally don't buy clothes by labels, I buy clothes I like the look of, whether they be £5 or £75.

I like to buy designer clothes at cheaper prices :p, eg getting diesel jeans for £30 in a sale, wear some levis I bought instore at full price all the time though. I got 20% off with student discount, so 64quid for a pair of jeans is good value for money if you wear them a lot.

Overall I seek a good look that's value for money.

Another example is buying cheap clothes that I only wear once/dont like so never wear. That's not value for money.

I'm drawn to certain brands because of the style/fit, but I only buy it because it's quality.

I will just add that I am always attracted to the Luke 1977 shop, excellent quality clothing, and very stylish :)

That place repels me! :p

In my eyes it feels like a 'new money' shop and is devoid of classic style in favour of oddly placed pockets / zips and strangely placed and sized logos.

Horses for courses and all...!

I have a big mix of clothes. I only have Levi jeans though. Mostly because they're mad cheap out in America where I go every year and I can't get anywhere near that quality for that price anywhere else.

You pay for the brand. But with the brand comes quality. If you buy a pair of Armani jeans, chances are they'll last much longer (in terms of wear and tear), than a pair of River Island jeans will e.g.

Fred Perry is one of my favourites, decent prices, decent clothes.
