War Inc. Battlezone.....FREE to play on steam

It does look poor compared to other (paid for) online FPS, but hopefully this will be addressed in future updates

I did however like the "feel" of it (e.g. running is fast which will allow for fast paced games once you get used to it). I would describe it as a cross between quake3 and cod.

I got around to trying this last night and enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to. I usually suck at shooters but I actually have a positive kill/death ratio so far! It's fun and I find myself preferring the perpsective to the more common first person.

Sniping is great and it's actually possible to get one-shot kills without hitting the head. The maps are nicely varied with close-quarters stuff, villages and more open battlefields which are great for me and my sniper rifle of doom. No vehicles which is a huge plus as far as I'm concerned. A few different game modes.

Frankly the biggest problem it has at the moment in my opinion is that you can customise the kind of game you look to join, but at the end of the round it then becomes completely random so you can find yourself playing maps/modes you don't like.

It feels a bit low rent, camera angle is uncomfortable especially behind cover as you often can't tell if your bullets will fire over the cover and you can't see your target. Movement is very stilted, as are animations, weapon accuracy appears to be hold and spray, no burst required.

It's free and it has to be said without soundly overly harsh, it feels it.

Try Alliance of Valiant Arms instead.

Also free, and not great, but at least you can picture people paying money for it rather than this garbage.

Played a bit of these and found that I actually really enjoy the feel of 3rd person shooters, but this game feels really unpolished and a bit basic, but good for free.

Are there any other good 3rd person shooters out there with a decent multiplayer?

Played a few rounds, might as well play CoD, BF:BC2 or BF:2, they're worth the purchase over this game imo.

Do many people still play any of the GRAW games?
The pc versions are totally different to the console games, for one thing they're first person.

To answer your question, last time I loaded up graw 2 there were quite a few playing, more than I expected.
