What Do You want from the Next Generation?

Single gpu card that's as fast/faster than 2x 480's.
Minimum 2gb vram ideally 3gb+.
At least some attempt to bring down noise/heat levels.
Very low idle power levels, possible optimus style switching.
PCI-E 3.0
Thunderbolt integrated into DP port(s).

Mid/high:
2TB VRAM (2GB min :))
GTX 580 performance for £220ish
Cooler and quieter
3 monitor support

High
3GB VRAM
3 monitor support
DP (latest version - 2.2?)
GTX 570 SLI performance for £350-400

Sums it up for me

Maybe a seriously powerful new type of plug in card that sit's on your case top or desk like an external hardrive & blows it's hot air into the room instead of inside your case overheating your mobo & drives

there is already 580 performance for around £220, the 570 overclocked, so I think that 580 power should be £180 or less

I would like to see a twin gpu card. With 1 high power gpu eg 580, and one low end eg 520. When gaming the 580 runs @ full clocks, and the 520 takes care of the physx. When only browsing the net for example only the 520 is used like nvidia optimus tech.
I would also like to see nvidia surround on a single card.

When they start producing OC versions of the next gen cards. PLEASE make cards that run stable at the stock vid they are supplied with (MSI & Gigabyte take note).

Slightly tongue in cheek but a certain amount of "axe grinding" here from me!

;););)

Better reference coolers for one, and for the higher end cards to have 2 - 2.5gb of vram as standard.

On a slightly humorous note, a card with three gpu's on it with an effective vram of at least 2.5 gb, excellent cooling, low noise, low power draw and for less than £350. :D

not just another slightly better card that allready has a multicard equal

but most of all we need software not written for out of date consoles

This is an awesome idea for a feature.

Performance wise I would like a card which can provide more power than my crossfire setup in a single card.

I hope they still sell 1GB mid/high range models so I can intimidate "The Followers of 1GB" to buy them :p

People arent 'followers of 1 Gb'.

They buy them because 2 Gb isnt available in the mid range yet. When a decent 2 Gb card is available around the £150 price point, people will buy them then because they are affordable.

Everyone isnt going to currently splash out on a 3 Gb GTX 580 just because you tell them to. You really dont understand anything at all do do with price to performance, and no one at all is intimidated by your propaganda.

a 150 quid card, that should be the same power as dual 6870s but with only 2x 6pin pcie connectors, quiet and have 2GB of ram.

that or something for 150 that at 1920x1200 plays BF3 maxed out (4xAA) with 60 fps minimum

Talking about performance/price ratio, both GTX560 Ti 2GB and 6950 2GB already hit near the sweet spot, and I've been recommending these two to people who want to do SLI/CF, for the best bang for buck in current gen.

Before you can understand what is called "lag spikes" on your 560 Ti 1GB SLI, on the graph I posted before, I'm not going to argue with you. You could certainly keep living in your own world believing that your 1GB beats the 2GB :p

If you don't even have the courage to continue buying more 1GB cards, why would you encourage people to buy more? This is lame, especially when there are new cards coming out soon.

Just look at this thread, how many people mentioned 2GB?

But he has graphs!!! So he must be right!!!!!

People want 2GB because people are greedy by nature and just want more everything.

I want next gen cards that scale terribly in SLI so Harmony can make a new graph and continue his trollin' ;)
