Dell u2711 or hazro HZ27WA

Sure but have that in your face for 12 hours a day. All I am saying is my experience was very unpleasant they were rigged up in a square 2 across and 2 high and it was nasty. Maybe if I was a bit further away it wouldn't have mattered. After that I decided I'd rather have a cooler screen as my office is in the attic and it can get warm up there anyway.

Also if people find the glass screen annoying on the hazro they do a none glass screen on ocuk as well that could be a deal maker for some im torn between the 2 as well still i havent got a window behind me just to the side i dont really know how much this would effect me on the glass one if i was to buy that one a review in a mag said if it didnt have the annoying as they called it plastic screen as it isnt really glass it would be a better panel then the dells intresting its just the stand and warranty that worry me

I can't really comment on the coating as I can't compare, I was so close to getting the hazro to do a comparison but just couldn't shake the niggles, especially the warranty which I think its poor, for me this amount on a monitor more than 1 dead pixel is unacceptable, that's what broke the hazro for me

Yes im worried about it myself and don't get any assurances on here from anyone about it and i like the look of the hazro and what i have heard but there is the negatives like dust getting trapped behind the glass so i can see why they released the none glass version i am still confused as which one to get if the hazro had a decent warranty id have that i haven't really heard anything negative about the dell only the anti glare coating

I thought those dead pixel warranties only cover stuck bright pixels? A single dead one that is black wouldn't be covered?

I have been using a Dell 2001FP for years which has the matte anti glare coating on it. I'll admit, if you are looking at a white screen, it does look a wee bit grainy throught the anti glare but as I am totally used to it now, it really dosent bother me. TBH I'd be more bothered about looking at my own reflection all the time. I'm sooooo tempted to get one.

Hazro fixed the dust problem ages ago, all the new ones are assembled in a clean room.

I myself have a glass version and I love it.

I currently have the WC glass.

I have yet to use the warranty so can't comment, but they need about 5 dead/hot pixel count before you can claim warranty, or a dead/hot/stuck pixel cluster.

I seen that yesterday i think you linked it in another thread thanks it only made me want the monitor more lol im just worried about the warranty and dead pixels

I am in the same boat as you :D

DOn't forget you folks in the UK have tha 7 days distance selling regulation in which you can return the monitor.

You have to take into account Hazro is tiny compared to Dell, so they can not offer the same pixel policy as Dell at this time. Considering how well they sell out it must be a good sign though.

It can only lead to us getting better products from them.

I was dead set on getting Dell until I actually sat in front of some 24" IPS screens. I wish I had taken note of the serial number but they were 1920x1200 and had A01 as the model. I found them really harsh on my eyes and there was a pinkish hue on white web pages (probably bad calibration?) but as I said before the deal breaker was the heat. My attic gets warm enough as it is and having 3 of them plus a PC churning out heat would turn the office in to a sauna.

At work maybe they were placed a little too close to where I was sat but the heat they gave off was uncomfortable so I have decided to get LED and the only IPS LED are the Hazro.

I did read that Hazro were going to review their warranty somewhere but as you say in the worse case scenario you could get a screen with 4 bright pixels and they wouldn't change it.

While you have the DSR it's your responsibility and at your cost to return the item & most won't offer insurance on monitors either if it gets damaged in transit going back.

Good point i wouldn't know what one to get the glass fronted one or the one without

I have the Hazro H27WC without the glass. I was lucky enough to receive one with no pixel defects or any problems at all. For picture quality alone this monitor is worth the money. The stand isn't the best, but it does the job adequately. My only other slight gripe is the small gap between bezel and screen. The bezel needs to be made of a stiffer material as it is a little flimsy. You can only see this if you look closely though.

The 'C' model is not HDCP compliant so if you want to watch movies then this is probably not your best choice, although I've heard there are ways around it with software.

I bought mine solely for gaming/surfing and it is superb for both. Having seen the U2711 I'd take my Hazro over it every time for my uses. Crystal clarity, pin sharp images, superb colours, and somewhat cheaper than the Dell! ;)

I'm quite tempted for the glass fronted one but my attic office has two blinds per window one external to diffuse sunlight and the internal ones which block it entirely. I also have soft strip lights with diffusers so I recon I'd be ok with glass. I think if you have any kind of strong light source behind or to the side of where you will sit the glass might cause reflections.
