Logitech been ripped off - to grass or not?

Personally i would have sent a message to him saying that i know what his scam is and that i would report him to ebay/logitech/authorities if he carried on doing it.

Dont get me wrong im not some chav scrote who thinks stealing is funny i would have just given him a chance to stop, going straight to logitech (with the hope of getting freebies) would be a last resort, i wouldnt want to ruin his life if they do decide to go after him and he could get prison time.

Interesting comment, but that's not what I asked you. :p

I asked you what do you propose happens to "him" [now that he's been found out]?

Why not, he is a criminal, he won't have done it by accident.
Yeah but threatening to shop him to the authorities might scare him straight. I wouldnt want to destroy someones life by helping send them to prison which he will then have on his record which may harm him from ever getting a job, may make him homeless, to the point where he reoffends just to get a roof over his head back in prison.

Ok so its a bit over the top in my reasoning but i would still give him a chance, instead of thinking 'ooooooo i might get free ****' for telling on someone.

Caution, slap on the wrist, ban from ever getting RMA from Logitech, make him pay all the money back to Logitech.

The first part sounds like you live in fairytale land.

Second part seems somewhat reasonable, I don't think people should get prison sentenes for things like fraud on this scale (they're not a danger to members of the public) and should instead do community service, and be fined and repay what they've gained in the same way they deal with student loads (taken from your wages every month, but without the minimum earning part).

Why do i live in fairytale land for not wanting to screw over someone else life just to see what free **** i can get from Logitech for grassing him up.

Also i agree with the second part.

This is probably bad timing due to the riots, but I think similar attitudes to yours allowed such crimes to happen so unabated. Its such a weak/naive stance to think when told, someone will go straight when 'asked'...

As criminals say, you commit the crime you do the time...

Maybe i am living in cloud cookoo land, but i wouldnt grass someone up for doing something illegal but it all depends on the severity.

LOL so Logitech were asking for it - cant wait for your 'troll' post on rape :D

EDIT: Nice ninja ;). Guess you were too worried about getting flamed...

Don't you think that's a bit farfetched in the imagination department? I don't think it's this type of attitude that "allowed" the "riots" to happen, not at all and I think it's unfair to suggest that.

These riots aren't at all comparable to a guy ripping logitech off with RMAs and to suggest so makes it look like you're playing down the severity of these "riots" somewhat.

My point was poorly surmised - I just think the whole 'give them a second chance' attitude has left us in the state we are in. I wasnt comparing the actual act, but 1LANCS sense of giving the bloke the 'benefit of the doubt'...

How on earth did he managed to do it that many times? I have an X-530 set here, the right speaker has a broken jack and is also blown, lost receipt, they asked for a full proof of purchase... I assume he had receipts and he'd bought a single set or something?
