Basically it's public knowledge to anyone who does a little research that you can't join by paying, I only know because I stumbled across a thread on the eve forums of someone who fell victim a few months ago.

ALWAYS do research of any corp you want to join.

My heart goes out to you, 300M is a lot of money in the beginning, however I promise if you send me your remaining ISK I will send double back. ;)

Yeah another thing to watch out for is trade window scams (which is a disgrace IMO) most scams can be avoided with a little common sense but the trade window is both easy to exploit and default actions are counter-intuiative and different to pretty much all other MMOs so its easy for a seasons MMO player to be scammed via it.

Basically unless its a trusted corp member never use the trade window - always make out contracts to the other party yourself and watch out for people trying this on:

I think the best advice anyone could ever give a noob is close local chat when you enter Jita. Do what you need to do and leave as soon as possible.

While its a great place to buy stuff, its a complete den of theives and even an experienced player needs to steel himself against the shiny stuff which appears on offer in local :)

so many years back, i played eve quite abit, i joined up about 6months ago and my char had been deleted, i set new ones up but couldnt even get past training as was annoyed by what had happened in the past.

any recommendations to a newbie oldie on what to try and look out for in the latest eve release etc with a bran new char

Although it comes with a steep learning curve, the game has a large amount of varied content.

Join a corp, Ask questions. Join the OCUK channel & you will be bound to enjoy it.

Tricky question. What's good cash to you? 10m/hour? 50m/hour?

Comes down to what your character is capable of and what you know. There is a ton of things you can do. Traders seem to make a healthy profit if you know what you're doing but requires a lot of time. Of course there is mission running, mining, incursions, wormholes, ratting, ganking, scamming, salvaging, the list is pretty endless.

The best answer is probably buy a GTC, sell on the Timecode bazaar, easy 700m.

It's all about wormholes for making isk :D
Kill and loot anything that isn't an ally and run all the sites you can find. Far more fun than missions/mining, huge profits to be made and doesn't require a big hauler and loads of time studying the markets like trading does!

What is the fastest way to make good cash? Mining is simple, but the strip miner cycle time is a bit slow,

Become rich in Real life & sell GTC's for isk.

Install a bot and take over drone regions for a few years.

Own a system with juicy moon goo

That's how to get filthy rich, but ethically not great.

The less ethical methods are often the most profitable. Scamming, corp theft and suicide ganking are pretty profitable if you can be bothered. If you want something legit, trading is supposed to be good if you have the inclination.

Combat type stuff is normally going to be better than mining stuff unless you have lots of accounts, nullsec sanctums and wormhole sites are probably best isk/hour, shortly followed by FW missions, lowsec level 5 missions, regular level 4 missions.

If you want to stay along the industry side of things, best earners are probably going to be: High end wormhole gas > nullsec ice > nullsec/wormhole ores > mid-level wormhole gas > lowsec ores > hisec ice > hisec ore

Well last week I gave a friend my 2 accounts to do with what he pleased as I have no interest in going back to the game ever (still a good game, enjoyed it for years, just not for me anymore)

He tells me he has made to date 24B ISK selling my ships and modules and one char so far (2 more to go!) so needless to say he's well chuffed :D

You'll need Core Scanner Probes, and a Core Probe Launcher to *find* wormholes. It's possible to solo the lower class ones in a drake or T3 but there's quite a high risk of getting killed by other players. Best way to reduce this risk is to join a wormhole corp, the risk reduction will be substantial if you find a good one. Sleepers have no bounties so you need to salvage and loot to make isk.
