Grumble grumble grumble. I pays my taxes etc, and the waiting list for physio referral is...yes 16-20 weeks. By which time of course I'll not really be in need of physio. Great.

im in the same boat myself, been waiting about a month now, got told it would be at least 2 months, before id get sent an apointment. but they never actualy said how long the apointment could be from the letter.

Yeah, the Physio waiting times really annoys me too!
I ended up paying for private treatment, but I did get the NHS Physio after 5 weeks.

If it gets better in that time then the NHS saves cash, that's how the NHS rations care, if you make everyone wait, some will get better, some will die, some will lose interest.

Funding cuts, not enough physio's, too many people needing treatment.

Not a lot you can do about it tbh, it's a question of resources.

What MP uses the NHS? I'll go to my usual physio and pay for it. Just irritating that its 20 weeks!

Well, it does depend on clinical need, but if they use the NHS, in the same area with the same condition, then they will wait the same length of time.

Why complain? We have national health care and are very lucky to do so. Unfortunately waiting lists are one down side of that, but if you don't like it then just pay for private physio. If we didn't have the NHS, you'd have to pay anyway. Be greatful you have the option.

They'll just give you a list of exercises to do. Google ankle exercises and do them yourself.

But taxes would be lower and frankly I can't believe for a minute that a private medical firm would be even half as wasteful as the NHS is with it's limited funds.

I am happy to pay higher taxes for the NHS. Do you really want to be a country where people can't get the treatment they need because they can't afford it? Imagine the implications that would have on the other areas of society.

The problem with this position is that it's a false dichotomy, there are more options than 'the NHS' and 'payg healthcare', indeed very few other countries in the world use our system.

I had a CT Scan for my broken wrist just over two weeks ago and have been given another appointment with the doctor in over two months time! Ridiculous!
