just played metro 2033..

liked the story, was a bit hard in places, loved the atmosphere, how come its so demanding though ? its not as refined texture wise as some other games, though the smoke and effects were astounding, also, how come dof killed my gfx cards so much ? anyway awesome game, any recommendation of games like it ?

Dead Space 2 has a similiar eery feel and keeps you in suspense.

Same, I dont see the point playing during the day, Alan Wake on the xbox, Metro 2033 on pc, Dead space 2, haven't played it myself but apparently Amnesia is ridiculously scary.

I really enjoyed metro the atmosphere was second to none I would recommend STALKER series although its more of open world non linear game. It still has the post apocalyptic, based in Russian radioactive fallout, fighting for your life feel to it. (Not very scary thow)

Might have to give Deep Space 2 a try would it worth playing the first deep space first?

are there any texture mods, the fact the game is so dark is a little bit of a let down, but when theres light the game really shines..

Playing Dead Space for the first time at the moment, then will play Dead Space 2, and yes, with the curtains drawn and headphones on....

haven't played it myself but apparently Amnesia is ridiculously scary.

The atmosphere in this 'indie' game is incredible, especially in the dark and with headphones on. Do it!

well i saw slowdown in the library level, i usually turn off dof as all it does it make things in the distance more blurry and less detailed and cains your gfx for doing so, it looks better off imo. i get about 50 fps with it on, but with it off it can go upto 80. slowdown in the libray meant i was going down to the 30s i have 2 560s which beat a 580gtx, even these cards cant get a perfect 60fps. all slowdowen was with it on, with dof off i was getting 60+ fps all way through

it's pretty tough on hardware, you might want to upgrade your gpu first, the rest of your rig will play it with ease,

Just loaded mine up for the 1st time and kept getting an physx error i dont even have an nvidia card! i found running the game as admin seemed to get passed this. Just been having a look through the video settings and saw the option to set what DX version to run the game in what would be best? I have a 5850 which is dx11 so would i be better using that or just stick to dx9?

I just bought Metro for around £7, should be arriving soonish

I also need to play Dead Space, then Dead Space 2. However I also just bought Crysis 2 so I need to play that as well. Not even finished Crysis Warhead yet. Blimey, lots to do!!
