All of a sudden I cannot connect to it any more, can't even do offline :/

Deleted my client regestry blob file and it seems I can update steam but cannot connect to it to log in :/

Okey then so I bought mafia 2 with that random site that was in another link for just under £4 and it seems the payment didn't get debited from my account even though paypal said it had and then I added it to steam and now steam doesn't load. connection?

Go into your Steam folder and delete ClientRegistry.blob.

This fixes most problems with Steam, but give it time to load back up again.

Already tryed, in the end I reinstalled steam. Seems in the process it uninstalls all your games. Sigh, pretty irritated now. I forgot it would do that. Better have kept the saved data or i'm going to be mad!

I don't suppose you've been mingling with any IObit software? I had a problem similar to this before.

It varies from game to game. In most cases, I think you'll be fine, it leaves it behind wherever it was and finds it again on install. Obviously, steamcloud games just download it again, so also OK.
I'd say on re-installing 90% of your games should have their saves.

Of course it uninstalls your games. They're stored within your Steam folder, and require Steam to play.

Most of your save data should be saved elsewhere though, My Documents, AppData etc.

steam support? hope to god this "random site" and papal havn't just shafted steam and they've suspended your account for fraud.

Well it looks like the games I actually care about have the save data to them, though I've not checked kotor yet, kind of afraid to tbh!

Well loads of other people used it but it did seem straight to buy from a website and have to use paypal tbh. Either way, I have a receipt from them that was emailed to me and yet my paypal wasn't deducted. Free game? Win. Shame it was only £3.xx

errr there you go then.

Steam have given you a game paypal haven't given them the money.

As far as steam are concerned you've just stolen from them.

Contact support and have fun getting paypal to even acknowledge they made a mistake let alone fix it.
