Ban the grammar and spelling nazi's!

were you the kid who sat at the front and "helped" the teacher out, correcting other kids and getting bullied for it?
Getting bullied for it? What are you on about? If a teacher is teaching people the wrong definitions of words, why wouldn't you point it out? It undermines the whole point of being in school. Where did this "getting bulled for it" come from? Did it get added in because of how butthurt you feel?

seriously it's not your job to correct others, you may get some self worth from it, but it's not a true reflection of life...
Okay, I've already told you, just because you feel butthurt over it, doesn't mean some one is correcting you to affirm their selfworth.

If you were stood next to me in a random location and started correcting my mistakes you would be soon sat on the floor with a black eye.
No I wouldn't.

Hiding behind a keyboard with superior grammar and spelling skills is indeed a low blow.

I'm not hiding behind a keyboard, I'd happily tell you face to face, but once again, you feeling butthurt doesn't mean it's a low-blow. Claiming something is a certain way, doesn't mean it is.

A low blow would be you having debilitating dyslexia and me pointing and laughing and calling you stupid because you struggle with the pronunciation of words.

why does your forum name not have a capital?

remove the plank from your own eye and so on....

You really believe that's in any way relevant? I'm not sure if you realise this, but "kylew" isn't my *actual* name, and I'm not going to capitalise it, look at you being all hypocritical though.

You really need to chill out a bit, and stop correcting people. I'm sure that most know how to use grammar but highlighting the mistakes is very petty, almost is if you are marking them at school.

*cough* http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18301522 *cough*

Oh I totally agree, I could make it my mission to upset him over and over but I chose not to simply because it's petty. I assume most of his post count is corrections.

Why wouldn't I correct a teacher that was insisting something that wasn't true? Doesn't that undermine the point of them teaching is things? Make it your mission if you want, you actually don't know anything about me, see my last post.

The fire burns deep in you doesn't it? A shame then that it is wasted on me.

I will not be making it my mission as I have already stated how pointless that would be.

I also don't really want to know anything about you, but thanks anyway for that pointless snippet in to your life.

All the best in your mission and goodbye.

Okay, I see you're purposefully being awkward. I said you don't know anything about me in response to you acting like you did, I wasn't claiming you wanted to know things about me. Seriously, why do I even need to explain that?

You didn't, it was all assumption and clearly didn't need you explaining anything.

anyway as i said good luck in the grammar mission ;)

Maybe it's because it isn't considered bullying? If you think it's bullying, I think it's time to man-up.

Not bullying, pathetic. There's a huge difference between pulling somebody on an appallingly written post and making a point of a missing apostrophe. Most of the time it's done at the expense of adding anything useful to a thread, something you're quite good at doing.

Honestly though, if you cant use apostrophes right, then simply leave them out of your posts all together. No one is going to complain about their absence, but if you keep putting them' in the wrong place's people 'r' gonna' get annoyed.

:D

A person that's unnecessarily critical and anal is highly irritating, whether it's about grammar or not.

Absolutely.

I'd also like to add pulling people up on the correct usage of a [space] before a full stop and a question mark is stupendously inane. This is what a grammar nazi does, not correcting virtually illegible posts as people have mentioned previously in this thread, but harping on about rubbish like this. It causes arguments and it doesn't add anything of useful nature to the thread.

So it's pathetic, what do you expect the mods to do, remove everything you don't like or think is pathetic?

I don't generally complain at a misused apostrophe, it's when someone's post is littered with them. You're very welcome to think it's pathetic, but I can't help feeling that good punctuation is important.
