Yes, and that would harm Nvidia performance........... how?
Funny thing is besides DA2, NV spanks AMD in AMD sponsored titles most of the time.

Funny you say that. Both Metro 2033 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat use DX11 and tessellation and the AMD cards are generally faster:

Metro2033 is an Nvidia sponsored game and was used by Nvidia in their presentations to show tesselation in a game.
There is always exceptions to the rule.
It's not Nvidia's fault AMD suck at tesselation![]()
Looking at this review the HD6950 1GB is similarly priced to a GTX560TI but is overall around 5% faster in a range of DX10 and DX11 titles:
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/foru...ws/40165-amd-radeon-hd-6950-1gb-review-6.html
The GTX560 non-TI is not faster than an HD6870 1GB too:
http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/foru...366-nvidia-geforce-gtx-560-1gb-review-17.html
The HD6790 is faster than the GTX550TI:

The GTS450 could barely beat the HD5750. The HD5770 1GB is not only cheaper but faster too.
So no,not an exception to the rule.
The only cards which I would say have an edge is the GTX580.
The way NV scale down their GPUs & because of the way they are designed the tessellation gets scaled down greater then on scaled down AMD cards.
So basically for 99% of gamers the AMD cards are not slower then or trade blows with the Nvidia cards.
The sub £100 gaming market is owned by AMD whose cards are faster in most cases, cheaper, cheaper to make and suck less power too.
In the £100 to £200 market they trade blows with Nvidia even in many DX11 titles.
In the HD6950 1GB and GTX560TI 1GB comparison in the 6 DX11 titles tested, the HD6950 1GB was faster in 4 of them. The HD6870 1GB and GTX560TI were split evenly and the HD6790 was faster in 5 DX11 titles when compared to the GTX550TI.
Ah but you could equally say Dirt 2/3 purposely under-use tessellation so as not to expose ATI/AMD weakness in that area... its still conjecture at best.
So if I am reading this thread correctly then you are saying that a games development house have deliberately coded something to make AMD cards look bad. I suppose you also believe the Government is hiding Alien space craft and man never landed on the moon.
Sorry but as a games developer myself ( for the last 25 years ) I can assure you that programmers have more to worry about than making hardware manufacturers look bad lmao.
How many people here predicted such a response from Rroff?
@Rroff
Honestly, and maybe you can't see it now... but one day you will look back and cringe at the place you are at, and thank above for whatever caused you to wake up...

Yeah cause I'm sure if a company paid your company $2 million dollars to code something a certain way you wouldn't do it..

Why not wait until you actually know what you are talking about before you make uneducated comments.
Crytek are in the the business of developing and selling games.. If you were in that same business would you develop a product that would suffer on half of your audiences machines?
Think logically rather than always thinking there is some deep dark act going on. Why would anyone develop a product which would suffer one 50% of its markets machines.. Think what sales they would loose if they actually did that.. A lot more than 2 million trust me.. LMAO..
Some people have nothing better to do that sit back and think up conspiracy theories. Sad really
Because 95% of that 50% don't know any better & will pre order & buy it anyway & there is little chance of a refund even if they become aware or understand what's going on with the game.
nVidia says to Crytek.. "guys we will pay you to make your game nuffed on Ati cards"
Crytek to themselves " What a great idea.. lets rubish our companies name "
Crytek employee to Ati " guess what guys nVidia paid us to do this"
Ati in court "cool huge rewards coming our way from lawsuits "
Get the picture..LMAO..
