he had a great time but now as it's School holidays there always very busy & for a 1yr old that's just about walking on her own, I can see it being too busy for her.

I live North West Lancashire so anything within the region, Also Was thinking of Blackpool but again what to do???

Idea's please..... Thanks in advance.

Unless you like the tacky British holiday stuff I'd say Blackpool is not the best place (sorry Blackpudlians!). The best thing I've been to there is the Sea Life centre, although it's fairly short.

Blackpool Zoo or the Tower?

Just been looking at the Zoo it's an idea thanks only issue is my daughter seems to cry when she see's strange animals. Cost for 2 adults 1 child over 3 would be just over £36 plus i guess I could find an offer or cash in some Tesco Clubcard points to get a deal so a cheap day out really

She's inquisitive looking at our rabbit but when it moves she cries bless her lol

Surely at 1 she won't remember a thing so save yourself a few quid, she won't know it's her birthday anyway

Ha Ha yea ok she won't remember but if you have kid's you should know celebrting there Birthday's is much about enjoyment for the parents too seeing there little one's enjoy something different than there normal day.....

The first birthday of your child is an anti climax, You'd be better off just going somewhere You want to go & having a nice day out.
1 year old babies are boring & a bit rubbish to be honest. :p

I'd recommend Chester Zoo too. Our 2 year old loves it that much we have season tickets.

They have dinosaurs there at the moment too, definitely worth a visit!

Boring, Do you have kids? if you do I guess your one of those that plonks them in front of the TV and don't interact with them.

My Daughter is the light of my life everything she does is funny, clever & her little smile can turn any bad day or worry i have into bliss.

In all honesty most early birthday parties I've seen are just an excuse for the parents to show off to their mates. Stupidly expensive gifts, massive cake, hiring of bouncy castles or whatever....... for what?

Infact the whole subject of kids birthday parties these days has gotten out of hand IMO. Someone at my work has a 6yr old and with 26 kids in his class he is invited to every one, and the recommended spend is £20/child! £520 to be spent on other peoples kids - that's more than I spend on all Christmas/Birthday presents for everyone!!!! This seems to be fairly standard these days.... and of course you have the parents that can afford more expensive gifts and then people feel obliged to buy something of equal value.

Rant over, anyway, when ours gets to 1 we are going to have the family around our house to celebrate. Jelly, ice cream and cake with streamers and party hats, just like when I was younger. Then we'll all go out for a walk and I know that's going to be a day everyone will remember. If the nipper has the same memories of these sorts of birthdays when they're a bit older as I do, then I'll be a happy dad.

And I bet you're a great dad too! Nice to read stuff like that, too often only hear negative side to having kids.

With out sounding too harsh, she probably wont even remember it or even know whats going on.

I'd suggest save your money and do something when she is able to comprehend whats going on.

Chester Zoo, much bigger and you can get discount family tickets if you travel on Mersey rail.

epic zoo! is epic! dont know if a 1year old is really going to enjoy watching animals though i bet she would rather be doing some form of activity like a toddlers playgroup sort of thing.

why not just got for a picnic at a good park or something
