How does the HUD in this game work? On first launch my HUD was literally filled with information. I had challenges, all time server records and so on and could even see votes on my screen and I could vote for the quality of the map as well. There was some ESL thingie that I could use with my mouse and so on. But that was on first launch, now I have very minimalistic HUD almost like in those screenshots few posts above except I have even less information on my screen.

Definitely.
I prefer gamepad however my friend uses cursor keys and spanks my bottom.
If you have not played any of the TM games before, they are by design, very easy to pickup.. however...
Mastering them is HARD but addictive.
For me, the simplicity of the concept is what keeps me coming back for more as the game offers a giant sandbox for track makers.

I suck that is true, but in my defence, I was trying out keyboard controls as I normally use a gamepad.
Very different technique required.
The map editor is included so should not be long to see custom maps once the dedicated server files are released within the next few days.
