asian corruption

Considering they are outside a beer bar holding gogo bar signs I think thats a bit harsh to judge him like that lol

Nah, there are a lot of promo girls in Thailand, even for go-go bars, doesn't mean they are all hookers.

In a country where you need a university degree to work as a cashier in a 7/11, if a pretty girl can earn an acceptable living just holding a sign up and inviting people into bars, why wouldn't she?

I know these girls are not hookers. But its understandable to assume they are for those who have never been to Thailand judging by the pic.

You sure they need a degree to work 7/11 I dont think so. In fact I knew girls and guys work 7/11 aint got not degree lol. Plus many off the cashiers were only late teens.

The girls that hold the signs are not usually working girls.................my sources tell me
They mostly arent, theyre there just to get you into the bar and banter you.

How do you know they're even girls!?

That's why i stay away from Thailand

Its pretty easy to spot a ladyboy from a girl. Unless youre comparing national beauty pageant ladyboys...then the lines get a little blurred!

You need more than the minimum compulsory education offered in Thailand to work in a 7-11, or most shops actually.

Its touch and go on the promo girls, some go, some dont. Being at the prettier end of the scale means that they can be fussy as well, being a 'handsome man' will help.

Thats Soi happy, always thought it was good name :)

Bit of a shame that Soi cowboy in BKK and walking street(above) with hookers are all some people think when you mention Thailand, when its a fantastic and beautiful country with endless things to do and see.

Well on the small islands or Pattaya I saw many teens working. I doubt they have degrees.

Mayeb BAngkok etc?

I didnt say degrees, I said more than compulsory education, which ends at 14 in Thailand IIRC. You have to be 18 or older to work in a shop like 7-11 in Thailand.

I still don't get it, I don't think.

Is it that the OP is on holiday, and instead of saying nothing, or doing an informative and entertaining post about Thailand, he's instead opted for the slightly mysterious and smug posting style?

Yeah.

He's probably a 18-23 year old gap yah **** bragging.

Sorry, I should have said "practically need a degree"; the quality of education (including university but excluding the top unis) is very poor in the country and as a result you need higher education even for a very basic cashier's job.

Kids grow up with a very strong family ethos and want to help out the family, so there is a strong incentive to start working as soon as possible. If you're a pretty girl you could either start doing this sort of promo work, or (assuming you actually have the brains) carry on studying for several years and end up making the same amount of money.

Anyway, I hope the OP can have fun without winding up with a motorbike crash / jet-ski scam / arrest and extortion scenario, and without tarnishing the already bleak reputation of the young white male in SE Asia!

No it's not. I see 13 year old English girls dressed worse then that and with more make up on as well.
