Newell: We have to convince EA to come back

Origin will tank
Steam will prevail
EA will come crawling back

EA will need a practical demonstration and a punch in the wallet before they go back on this current line of operation.
 
Origin barely works.

I have CD key for BF:BC2, I downloaded origin and tried to verify it, to download the game. Up pops the menu to select the game, clicked ok; and a message pops up saying the game can't be verified or downloaded using Origin.

I get a link that sends me to EA Download manager instead, I install it and try; and there, yet again it won't activate or download. This time I got a link to Origin again.


What a bloody mess, I hate it already! Had to call EA support and get them to add Badcompany 2 to my Origin account for that cd-key. Ugh

What a piece of rubbish.
 
I'll stick to steam. Owning a pc, xbox 360 and ps3, I can play anything anyway. Already finished crysis 2 on the xbox. The only way I'd get it for the pc is in a steam sale if it ever comes back

Origin is crap tbh, bought and downloaded NFS carbon collectors edition last week, stupid program downloaded the game twice, no dice, i force download for the third time, game refuses to load, install, open, run, heck it didnt even download the game to where i told it to in the first place?

sod EA coming back to steam, they need putting out of business so some other publisher/dev's can buy what they've got and make them how they should have been in the first place
 
I want all my games on Steam now..have too much a collection to start using another PIA download manager that I have to launch to play the game. I like how my games are all in 1 place on Steam and keep themselves up to date

Was only slightly interested in BF3 anyway, now I probably won't get it for sure. RO2 is out soon too

Most publishers these days have 0% clue.. After ******* gamers over by removing PC sellers in droves from brick and mortar stores.. they're now intent on ******* over the online sellers as well.

I don't want/need another digitial distribution supplier. I barely have enough time to play the games I have already without adding more.
 
Not much I can say other than origin sucks. its just a horrible clunky EA interface. Steam is just right!

However EA have got you by the balls with BF3 and the SW MMO unfortunately
 
Seems a lot of people are under the illusion BF:3 will fail because it's not on Steam, it won't.

Looks that way

BF3 will need origin the same way HL2 needed steam. EA seem to think they can take on Valve by just copying everything it did. Except this time the "must have" blockbuster release is BF3, not HL2.

Sorry and Origin won't become a monopoly? Explain to me how Origin is competing with Steam when they dont even sell the same games???

Also how is Steam a monopoly? Do D2D, GoG, Impulse and Gamersgate not get a look-in?
