2011 A level results day thread

Straight A's for all my AS subjects, over the moon ;D

Barely scraped the A on the second computing paper though, so a bit of a wake-up call to do a little more revision.#

Looking forward to starting next year with a good base.

Congrats to all others who got what they wanted.

Personally got 2 B's and a D (geography, science, history) but not going to uni so quite happy with them.

Girfriends gutted though as she wanted to do biochemistry at york and had an offer of ABB but unfortunately she got AAC (biology, business and chemistry). Sadly shes a brilliant student and put so much work into it however that bloody chemistry exam was awful.

Well done for yourself! Has she rang York? Time to get pleading.

Good luck to everyone getting their results today :)

And congratulations to everyone getting into the Universities they wanted

Has she checked it is rejected and not just her grades? I thought i would be before i got home but it is still decision pending.

Well done to all of you, oh what it was like to be a student in my day.

My daughter gets her results tomorrow (although not until 10am at her school :( ). Is it possible to feel more nervous as a parent...?

Needn't have worried. She's just phoned to say she's got A*'s in Biology and Maths, and A's in Chemistry and Geography. So, she's off to do Biochemistry at Warwick.

Hope you all did well, and anyone who applied but didn't get into a Law degree think yourselves lucky! Dodged a bullet there!

Thanks guys, and yeah shes called up York and its definately a no no, we havnt managed to get on the UCAS track this morning so she was kind in limbo, however she called up and found out her offer for liverpool (which was the same as Yorks ABB) is pending so shes on the phone to them now to try and get it sorted touch wood. :)

Just remember everyone.

"Would you like an extra Hash Brown for 30p?"

Hey i wouldnt knock it haha, luckily working in an o2 shop atm and have done for 2 years but really need to consider career options as i never had plans to go to uni and only wanted to go into the public sector (police or RAF) however bit of a hard position to be at the moment With the cuts and everything. Think im going to be Trying to get a place on british airways future pilot scheme in the next few months and see where i get, while at the same time putting my application into the police etc.

I got BBC overall in maths, human biology and media studies respectively. Yes that means my lowest grade was in media studies when my other two subjects were pretty hard. What do your crazy stereotypes have to say about that? ;)

Also my maths grades were erratic as ****. I got 78, 94 and 49 UMS in S1, C3 and C4 respectively. I swear my ability to do maths is just determined by the position of the moon or something.

Edit: Also I should say well done to everyone! So far you all seem to have done pretty well on the whole.

You may want to do some more research with regards to the Police. ;)

Well played guys :D

This time last year was the best and worst day of my life.

Predicted a a a a

Got a b e d. Had to go through clearing, and then got into Greenwich! So was rather happy then, considering I'd pretty much failed my a-levels (maths, further maths, physics and chemistry).

Although c4 was ****ing ridiculous. I got 96 in c1, 93 in c2, 89 in c3 and then.... 42 in c4.

I only got a grades in maths and physics, dissappointed but I only needed AB to get into uni. My ucas points must be around 650!
